July 9, 2019 Toronto Blue Jays Minor League Report

The Blue Jays’ affiliates had three scheduled games on Tuesday and while the Dunedin Blue Jays were rained out, the DSL Blue Jays and Vancouver Canadians both lost.

Vancouver Canadians 1, Everett AquaSox (SEA) 9

 

The Vancouver Canadians lost their 20th game of the season, notching just six wins to go with those 20 losses, falling 9-1 to the Everett AquaSox.

The C’s had just four hits including singles from Cameron Eden (1/4), Luis De Los Santos (1/4), Philip Clarke (1/4, R) and Dom Abbadessa (1/4).

William Gaston walked five batters, allowing three runs (two earned) on four hits with three strikeouts in 3 1/3 innings while Luis Quinones walked three with one hit allowed and two strikeouts in 2 1/3 innings. Noclas Medina gave up a run on three hits with a strikeout in 1 1/3 innings and Grayson Huffman surrendered a run on two walks and a hit with one strikeout in 2/3 of an inning. Mike Pascoe gave up four runs on three hits with two walks in 2/3 of an inning, striking out one and Parker Caracci allowed a hit, striking out two in 2/3 of an inning.

DSL Blue Jays 9, DSL Padres 15

 

The DSL Padres beat up on the Blue Jays’ pitching early and, while the Jays come back with six runs over the last two innings, it wasn’t enough to overcome the huge deficit as the Blue Jays lost 15-9.

Emmanuel Sanchez (3/5, 3B, RBI, 2 R) and Amell Brazoban (3/5, 2B, 3B, 4 RBI, R, OF Asst) had big games getting three hits each while Glenn Santiago was 2/5 with an RBI, three runs and a stolen base. Adrian Montero was 0/3 with two walks, a stolen base and two runs and Juan Pizarro was 1/4 with a double. Gustavo Ruiz was 1/3 with a walk and a run after coming in for Junior Ramos.

Jose Quintana allowed six runs but only one was earned as the Blue Jays made four errors (Leonel Callez, Emmanuel Sanchez, Winder Garcia and Glenn Santiago). Quintana allowed four hits and two walks with one strikeout over 2 2/3 innings. Winder Garcia allowed two runs (one earned) in 1 1/3 innings, giving up two hits and two walks while Edgar Castro allowed seven runs in 2/3 of an inning, giving up seven hits with a walk and a strikeout. Juan Martinez allowed just two hits in 2 1/3 innings, striking out one and stranding an inherited runner while Gabriel Pontes struck out one in two innings to finish the game.
