Outfielder Mallex Smith helped give the Buffalo Bisons their 77th win of the season.

Buffalo Bisons 8, Syracuse Mets 5

The Buffalo Bisons’ (77-47) got a huge game from outfielder Mallex Smith as they triumphed again over the Syracuse Mets 8-5.

Smith went 3/4 with a double, a triple, a home run, three RBI and two runs, stealing a base. Gregory Polanco was 1/5 with a double, an RBI and a run while Nash Knight was 1/4 with a double, an RBI and a run. Tyler White was 1/4 with a walk, an RBI and a run and Kevin Smith was 1/4 with a walk and a run. Forrest Wall was 0/3 but walked twice and stole a base, as was Otto Lopez who also stole a base. Kellin Deglan was 0/2 but walked twice and scored twice.

Lefty Nick Allgeyer allowed three home runs, giving up four runs on six hits but didn’t walk anyone and struck out six in five innings. Ryan Borucki walked two and struck out two in his inning of work and Kirby Snead allowed an unearned run on two walks with three strikeouts in his inning. Travis Bergen struck out two in the eighth and Trent Thornton got the save, striking out one in the ninth.
