The Blue Jays’ affiliates had six scheduled games and got five in with the Dunedin Blue Jays winning the first half of a double header and having the second game suspended in the third inning. The clubs won all five completed games.

Dunedin Blue Jays 10, Tampa Tarpons (NYY) 8

 

Cal Stevenson

In Game 1 of their double header the Dunedin Blue Jays continued their win streak, running it to 11 games, beating the Tampa Tarpons 10-8, scoring three runs in the top of the eighth and giving up only one in the bottom.

Cal Stevenson led the club with three hits, going 3/4 with a walk, two RBI and three runs while Ryan Noda slugged his seventh home run, going 2/5 with four RBI and a stolen base. Jesus Navarro was 1/2 with two walks, a stolen base and a run while Samad Taylor was 1/2 with two runs. Chavez Young was 1/4 with a walk and stolen base. Alejandro Kirk was 1/3 with an RBI while Christopher Bec, coming in for him, was 1/1 with an RBI. Cullen Large was 1/3 with two walks and a run.

Nick Allgeyer was roughed up, giving up six runs on seven hits (including a home run) and two walks with a strikeout in 4 1/3 innings. Connor Law allowed a run on three hits and two walks with three strikeouts in two innings and Jackson Rees got the win, allowing an unearned run on one hit with three strikeouts in 1 2/3 innings.

Lansing Lugnuts 8, Peoria Chiefs (STL) 2

 

The Lansing Lugnuts opened their series with the Peoria Chiefs, beating them 8-2.

Troy Miller had an outstanding start, allowing just a run on four hits with eight strikeouts over seven innings to even his record at 3-3. Justin Watts allowed an unearned run on one walk with a strikeout in the eighth and Cre Finfrock finished it with a scoreless inning, giving up a hit and a walk with one strikeout.

Rafael Lantigua had a big game, going 4/5 with four singles while Gabriel Moreno was 2/4 with a walk and a double, scoring a run. Griffin Conine was 1/4 with a home run, a walk, two RBI and two runs and L.J. Talley was 1/4 with a walk and two RBI. Reggie Pruitt was on base three times, going 0/2 with three walks, a run and two stolen bases and Hunter Steinmetz was 0/3 but walked twice, scored a run and stole a base. John Aiello was 0/3 with a walk and an RBI and Ryan Gold was 0/3 with two walks and two runs.

Bluefield Blue Jays 13, Pulaski Yankees (NYY) 9

 

The Bluefield Blue Jays got 14 hits and a couple of home runs, beating the Pulaski Yankees 13-9.

Ryan Sloniger was 4/5 with a home run, two RBI and two runs while Addison Barger was 2/5 with two runs and a walk and Leonardo Jimenez was 2/4 with a double and a walk and two runs. Patrick Morris hit a home run, going 1/4 with a sac fly, four RBI and three runs. Angel Camacho was 1/4 with two RBI and two runs and Scotty Bradley was 1/4 with two RBI and a run. Steward Berroa was 2/5 with three RBI and Eric Rivera was 1/5 with a walk and a run.

Lazaro Estrada started, going 4 2/3 innings and giving up seven runs (six earned) on four hits (including two home runs) with three strikeouts while Juan Acosta allowed only a walk in 2 1/3 innings. Aldo Ovando threw the final two innings, allowing two runs on two hits (including a home run) with a walk and one strikeout.

GCL Blue Jays 9, GCL Tigers West 2

 

Alberto Rodriguez

The GCL Blue Jays had a convincing win, beating the GCL Tigers West 9-2.

Alberto Rodriguez went 3/4 with a home run, a walk, three RBI and two runs while also getting an outfield assist and Jose Rivas was 2/3 with an RBI and a run. Jhon Solarte was 1/4 with a walk, two runs and a stolen base and Pedro Hurtado was 1/2 with a walk and an RBI. Hanley Acevedo was 1/2 with an RBI and Yhon Perez was 1/4 with a walk. Patrick Cantwell was active in a rehab game, going 0/3 with a run and a stolen base and Javier D’Orazio was 1/2 with a run and Orelvis Martinez was 1/5. Hugo Cardona was 1/4 with a walk and two runs.

Alexis Cardona went 4 1/3 innings, allowing a run on four hits and a walk with a strikeout and Eliezer Bello walked one and struck out one in 2/3 of an inning. Rafael Monsion allowed a run on five hits in the final four innings to get the win.

DSL Blue Jays 5, DSL Padres 4

 

The DSL Blue Jays got back at the DSL Padres, beating the 5-4 with two runs in the top of the ninth to complete the comeback.

Gustavo Ruiz went 3/3 with two doubles and two runs while Gustavo Gutierrez was 2/4 with a run. Yeison Jimenez was 2/4 with a double and Daniel Oliva was 2/4 with a double, a walk and two RBI. Adrian Montero was on base three times and was 1/3 with a run and two stolen bases. Willfrann Astudillo was 1/4 with an RBI, a run and a stolen base.

Yaifer Perdomo had a solid start, allowing three runs (two earned) on seven hits and a walk with four strikeouts in five innings. Winder Garcia allowed just a run and struck out six with three hits in four innings to get the win.
