The Toronto Blue Jays’ minor league affiliates went 2-3 in five games on Monday.

Buffalo Bisons 14, Syracuse Mets (NYM) 1

The Buffalo Bisons (39-25) destroyed the Syracuse Mets in the first game of their series, winning 14-1.

Alejandro Kirk went 4/5 with a home run (off of a shortstop who came in to pitch) and five RBI, scoring twice. Cullen Large had three hits, going 3/5 with a double and a home run with three RBI and a run and Riley Adams was 2/4 with a double and two runs. Kevin Smith also had two hits, going 2/4 with a home run, a walk and an RBI and two runs. Tyler White also hit a home run, going 1/4 with a walk, three RBI and two runs and Richard Urena had another home run, going 1/3 with a walk, two RBI and two runs. Dilson Herrera was 1/4 with a double, a walk and a run.

Bowden Francis had a stellar game, giving up just one run on one hit, a solo home run and walked two, striking out seven over seven innings of work. Tyler Chatwood allowed a hit and a wakl in the eighth while Travis Bergen gave up a hit in the ninth.

New Hampshire Fisher Cats 8, Reading Fightin Phils (PHI) 9

The New Hampshire Fisher Cats (28-35) scored one run in the bottom of the eighth but couldn’t get the tying run they needed as they fell 9-8 to the Reading Fightin Phils.

Jordan Groshans had a big game, going 3/4 with a walk, two RBI and a run. Chavez Young was 1/3 with a home run, three RBI, a walk and two runs. Reggie Pruitt was 2/5 with two RBI and two stolen bases and Otto Lopez was 1/3 with a double and three walks. Austin Martin also walked three times, going 0/2 with two runs. Vinny Capra was 1/4 and Samad Taylor was 0/4 with a walk, an RBI and a run.

Maximo Castillo allowed three runs on five hits (one HR) with three walks and struck out four in 4 2/3 innings. Will McAffer came in to stop the bleeding and gave up three more runs in 1/3 of an inning, giving up two hits and two walks. Brody Rodning allowed a run on three hits with one strikeout in 1 2/3 innings and Emerson Jimenez took the loss, giving up two runs on three hits with a walk and a strikeout in the one inning. Jon Harris finished it, giving up a hit with a strikeout in 1 1/3 innings.

Roster Notes: Cre Finfrock was transferred from the 7-day IL to the 60-day IL and Elvis Luciano was placed on the 7-day IL. Simeon Woods Richardson was placed on the temporarily inactive list (to participate in the Olympics) while Luis Quinones was assigned to New Hampshire.

Vancouver Canadians 5, Everett AquaSox (SEA) 6

The Vancouver Canadians (32-35) lost 6-5 in extra innings to the Everett AquaSox.

Luis De Los Santos went 1/5 but hit a solo home in the first inning to get the scoring going while Tanner Morris was 2/5 with a double and three RBI. Spencer Horwitz was 2/5 with a run. D.J. Neal went 0/2 with two walks and two runs and Philip Clarke walked twice.

Paxton Schulltz allowed three runs on 10 hits (one HR) with two walks and four strikeouts in five innings. Sean Mellen walked two and struck out one in two innings. Justin Maese gave up a hit and struck out three in two scoreless innings and Cobi Johnson took the loss, giving up three runs (one earned) on two hits (one HR) and two walks, striking out three in the final two innings.

Dunedin Blue Jays 3, Lakeland Flying Tigers (DET) 7

The Dunedin Blue Jays (28-38) opened their series with the Lakeland Flying Tigers by losing 7-3.

Nathanael Perez allowed the first three runs (two earned) on three hits (one HR) with a walk and five strikeouts over the first three innings. Wilgenis Alvarado gave up another four runs (three earned) on seven hits and five walks, striking out two in four innings. Elixon Caballero walked one and struck out one over two innings.

Harrison Ray went 2/5 with a run and a stolen base and Steward Berroa went 2/3 with two stolen bases and a walk. Hugo Cardona was 1/3 with a walk and a stolen base and Zach Britton was 1/3 with a double and two RBI. Mack Mueller was 1/4 and Addison Barger was 1/4 with a double and P.K. Morris went 1/4 with a double, an RBI and a run.

FCL Blue Jays 6, FCL Tigers East 3

The FCL Blue Jays (10-6) rattled off another win, beating the FCL Tigers East 6-3.

Two FCL Blue Jays hitters had three hits each: Gabriel Martinez was 3/4 with three singles and a run while Rainer Nunez was 3/4 with two doubles, an RBI and a run. Will Robertson continued his rehab assignment, going 1/3 with a walk, an RBI, two runs and a stolen base while JJ D’Orazio was 1/3 with a home run and three RBI. Rikelvin De Castro was 1/4 with a double and a run and Jose Rivas was 1/2 with a double.

Colton Laws was on the mound, throwing an inning and striking out one before Bejardi Meza threw two scoreless innings, giving up a hit and two walks. Kendry Rojas allowed three runs on three hits (one HR) with two walks and two strikeouts in 1 2/3 inning and Guillermo Villasmil finished it off, stranding two inherited runners, allowing two hits and a walk with one strikeout in 2 1/3 innings for the win.
