On a day that the Blue Jays were no hit by James Paxton, the club’s affiliates were held to just one win, that by the Lansing Lugnuts.
Buffalo Bisons 1, Rochester Red Wings 2
The Buffalo Bisons lost their second straight to the Rochester Red Wings, falling to 11-12 in a 2-1 loss. While the Bisons weren’t no-hit like the big league club was, they only had four hits including two from catcher Danny Jansen who drove in the club’s only run. Roemon Fields hit a double as did Tim Lopes whose batting average fell below .400 (.395) for the first time this season.
Joe Biagini was solid in his first game in Buffalo since appearing in the second game of a double header in Cleveland last week. Biagini allowed two runs on four hits and three walks over six innings with four strikeouts. Danny Barnes struck out two in an inning of work in his first game for the Bisons this year and Luis Santos struck out four in two innings, giving up just one hit.

Roster Notes: Richard Urena and Jake Petricka were both called up by the Blue Jays and Conor Fisk returned to the Bisons.

New Hampshire Fisher Cats 3, Portland Sea Dogs 5
T. J. Zeuch made his Double-A debut for the New Hampshire Fisher Cats but it resulted in a loss as the ‘Cats fell 5-3 to the Portland Sea Dogs. Zeuch allowed five runs (four earned) on nine hits and a walk with three strikeouts over just four innings before Danny Young took over for two scoreless frames, allowing a hit and a walk and striking out three. Zach Jackson walked one and struck out two in the seventh and Jose Fernandez finished it with two perfect innings, striking out a pair.
Harold Ramirez moved his batting average to .299 with a 2/4 game, hitting a double and scoring a run while Patrick Cantwell was 2/4 with an RBI. Max Pentecost was 1/3 with a walk and a double, scoring twice while Jonathan Davis was 1/4 with a walk. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. was 1/4 and neither Bo Bichette nor Cavan Biggio had a hit.

Roster Notes: T.J. Zeuch was promoted to New Hampshire and Conor Fisk went back to Buffalo the day after he was assigned to New Hampshire.

Dunedin Blue Jays 2, Bradenton Marauders 4
The Dunedin Blue Jays briefly had a 2-1 lead over the Bradenton Marauders but the Marauders overcame it quickly on their way to a 4-2 win. Eduard Pinto had two hits and a walk for the Blu eJays while Riley Adams was 1/3 with a double, a walk and two RBI. Kacy Clemens is still looking for his first FSL hit but he did take a walk and scored a run.
Josh DeGraaf allowed all four runs to the Marauders over five innings but only two were earned but he allowed five hits (including two home runs) and two walks with three strikeouts. William Ouellette struck out three and gave up two hits in 2 2/3 innings and Travis Bergen struck out a pair and allowed a hit in 1 1/3 innings.

Roster Notes: T.J. Zeuch was promoted to Double-A New Hampshire and Nate Pearson was placed on the DL after having his ulna broken by a line drive on Monday.

Lansing Lugnuts 11, Wisconsin Timber Rattlers 4
The Lansing Lugnuts offense came to play, scoring 11 times on 14 hits in an 11-4 beating of the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers. As he has so often, Kevin Smith led the way, going 4/5 with a double, two RBI and and two runs. Despite only going 1/5 with a walk, Yeltsin Gudino drive in a team-high four runs. Kevin Vicuna had three hits and two walks, hitting a double and scoring twice while Brock Lundquist had two doubles and a walk, scoring twice. Christian Williams was 2/6 and Norberto Obeso was 1/5 with a walk and two runs. Ryan Noda was 1/2 with a double, three walks, an RBI and a run.
Maverik Buffo started for the Lugnuts and moved his record to 4-1 with a five-inning effort, allowing just one run on five hits (including a home run) and one walk with two strikeouts. Donnie Sellers struck out five in three innings, giving up five hits and two runs. Brody Rodning finished the game, giving up an unearned run on two hits with a strikeout.
