The Blue Jays’ minor league teams had a great day on Wednesday with everyone but the New Hampshire Fisher Cats coming away with a win.

 

Buffalo Bisons 7, Rochester Red Wings 0

 

Deck McGuire

The Buffalo Bisons evened their record at 12-12 after cruising to one of their most convincing wins of the year, dominating the Rochester Red Wings by a 7-0 score. Deck McGuire had his best outing since returning to the Blue Jays’ system, tossing eight innings and giving up four hits and one walk with four strikeouts, needing just 91 pitches in the process. Conor Fisk finished the game, walking one in an inning of work.

Dwight Smith Jr. (3/3, 2 BB, 2 R, RBI, SB)and Jason Leblebijian (3/4, RBI, R) each had three hits while Ian Parmley (2/4) and Gift Ngoepe (2/3, BB, 2 RBI) had a pair. Danny Jansen hit a double and drove in two while Devon Travis was 1/5 with an RBI anda  run. Roemon Fields was 1/4 with a run and a stolen base.

Roster Notes: The Bisons activated shortstop Tyler Ladendorf from extended spring training and Michael De La Cruz was placed on the DL.

New Hampshire Fisher Cats 1, Portland Sea Dogs 7

 

The Fisher Cats’ game on Wednesday night was closer than the 7-1 score might have indicated but the ‘Cats got down 2-0 to the Portland Sea Dogs and it wasn’t until the top of the ninth inning that the Sea Dogs opened up the lead. The Fisher Cats had just four hits including doubles from Jonathan Davis, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Connor Panas. Bo Bichette added a single.

Jon Harris tossed five solid innings, giving up two runs on six hits (including a home run) and one walk with two strikeouts. Kirby Snead threw two innings, walking two and striking out one and Justin Shafer allowed a hit and a walk in his inning. Andrew Case gave up five runs in the top of the ninth, allowing three hits (including a home run) with two strikeouts.

Dunedin Blue Jays 6, Bradenton Marauders 2

The Dunedin Blue Jays got back into the win column with a 6-2 victory over the Bradenton Marauders on Wednesday. Joshua Palacios found his stroke, going 3/5 with an RBI while Bradley Jones was 2/4 with a triple and a run and Alberto Mineo was 2/4 with a double, an RBI and a run. D.J. Davis was on base twice with a single and walk, driving in a run, scoring one and stealing a base. Kacy Clemens got his first Advanced-A hit, going 1/3 with a double, a walk, an RBI and a run.

Tayler Saucedo threw eight strong innings, giving up two unearned runs on just four hits with three strikeouts. Connor Eller finished the game, allowing a hit in the ninth and striking out one.

Lansing Lugnuts 9, Wisconsin Timber Rattlers 4

 

The Lansing Lugnuts powerhouse struck again, slamming nine runs on 12 hits to beat the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers 9-4. Brock Lundquist led the attack, going 2/4 with two home runs, four RBI and three runs while Norberto Obeso (2/5, RBI) and Chavez Young (2/4, 2B, R) had two hits apiece and Reggie Pruitt was 3/4 with a double, two RBI and a run. Samad Taylor and Yeltsin Gudino each had a single and a walk with Taylor scoring twice and Matt Morgan hit a double, driving in a run and scoring.

Maximo Castillo had another strong outing despite giving up two home runs. He allowed four runs (two earned) on seven hits and a walk with three strikeouts over five innings. Colton Laws got the win, tossing four scoreless innings, giving up two hits and striking out six.
