It was an historic day for the Blue Jays’ minor league system with a 7-2 record, a cycle, and a long-time Blue Jays minor league making a start in the big leagues for the first time.
Buffalo Bisons 3, Pawtucket Red Sox 1
The Buffalo Bisons got a strong start from Sean Reid-Foley, enabling them to beat the Pawtucket Red Sox 3-1 on Tuesday night. Reid-Foley went 6 2/3 innings, allowing one run on a solo home run among six hits and two walks with eight strikeouts for the win. Jake Fishman, making his Triple-A debut, retired all four batters he faced, striking out one in 1 1/3 innings and Justin Shafer gave up a hit and struck out one in the ninth, recording his sixth save.
Recently returned to Buffalo, Lourdes Gurriel went 3/5 with a double and an RBI and was caught stealing and Anthony Alford had the big blow, a two-run home run among two hits. Reese McGuire also had two hits and Jason Leblebijian was 1/3 with a double and a walk.

New Hampshire Fisher Cats 10, Portland Sea Dogs 3
Jonathan Davis has been one of the steadiest hitters for the New Hampshire Fisher Cats this season and, while he was held hitless for the first time in a couple of weeks the other day, he more than made up for it on Tuesday, hitting for the first cycle in the New Hampshire Fisher Cats history as they pummeled the Portland Sea Dogs 10-3. Hitting in the #2 slot, Davis was 4/5 with three RBI, the single, double, triple and home run (requisite of the cycle) and scored three runs. Juan Kelly was 1/3 with a walk and his ninth home run of the year, driving in two, and Jon Berti also went deep, going 1/4 with a walk, a solo blast and two runs. Connor Panas was 2/4 with two RBI, a double and a run, stealing a base.
Josh DeGraaf went five innings, giving up a run on five hits and a walk with five strikeouts and Zach Jackson and Nick Hartman each allowed a run in two innings of relief.

Dunedin Blue Jays 5, Florida Fire Frogs 1
The Dunedin Blue Jays opened their series with the Florida Fire Frogs with a win, beating them 5-1. Zach Logue earned his third win, going six innings and giving up a run on five hits and three walks with four strikeouts. William Ouellette struck out two in two innings and Jonathan Cheshire finished it by striking out one batter in the ninth.
Alberto Mineo hit his first home run of the season, going 2/4 with a walk and two RBI. Ivan Castillo was 2/5 and Eduard Pinto was 2/4 with an RBI and a run. Kevin Smith went 2/4 with a walk in his best game in a while and Kacy Clemens was 1/3 with two walks, an RBI and a run.

Lansing Lugnuts 8, Lake County Captains 7
The Lansing Lugnuts held off the Lake County Captains, beating them 8-7 despite a late charge by the Captains. Matt Gunter had a strong start, allowing just one run on two hits and a walk with two strikeouts in five innings of work. Emerson Jimenez pitched 1 2/3, allowing five runs but only one was earned as he allowd just one hit and one walk with two strikeouts. Claudio Custodio picked up his third save, pitching 2 1/3 innings, allowing a solo home run among three hits with one walk and one strikeout.
Chavez Young was 2/4 with a double and a walk, scoring twice and driving in two runs while Kevin Vicuna had just one hit, a double, but drove in three. Brock Lundquist was 2/4 with a double and a run and Ryan GOld was 2/2 with a sac fly, an RBI and a run. Norberto Obeso was on base three times, going 1/2 with two walks, an RBI and two runs.

Vancouver Canadians 7, Tri-City Dust Devils 1
The Vancouver Canadians opened their series with the Tri-City Dust Devils by beating them 7-1. Sterling Guzman was 2/5 with an RBI while Mc Gregory Contreras was the offensive star, hitting a grand slam in the third inning, his third home run, and going 2/4 with four RBI. Tanner Kirwer also had a pair of hits including a double with an RBI. Griffin Conine was 0/4 with a walk and a run.
Joey Murray logged two scoreless innings for the Canadians, giving up a hit and two walks with three strikeouts and Sean Wymer allowed just a hit over two innings with one strikeout. Will McAffer, a Canadian Canadian pitched two strong innings, striking out one and earning the win. Justin Watts allowed the Dust Devils’ only run, allowing the run on two hits and a walk with one strikeout in one inning. Marcus Reyes finished the game, allowing three hits over two innings with two strikeouts.

Bluefield Blue Jays 3, Princeton Rays 2
The Bluefield Blue Jays opened their double header with the Princeton Rays by winning 3-2. Dominic Abbadessa went 3/4 with a double and Luis De Los Santos hit a solo home run, going 1/3. Davis Schneider also had a pair of hits, going 2/3 with a double while D.J. Neal also hit a double, going 1/4 with an RBI.
Alvaro Galindo went 3/1 3innings, allowing a solo home run among four hits with two walks and six strikeouts. Mike Pascoe stranded two runners, pitching 1 2/3 innings, allowing a hit and a walk. Grant Townsend allowed a run on a walk in one inning and Sean Rackoski earned the save, walking one and giving up a hit in the seventh.

Bluefield Blue Jays 0, Princeton Rays 1
In the closer of the double header the Bluefield Blue Jays lost 1-0 despite a solid start by Eric Pardinho. The Brazilian righty struck out five in four innings, giving up just two hits and a solo home run. Adams Cuevas struck out three in the fifth and Joey Pulido pitched a clean sixth with Brad Wilson pitching a clean seventh, striking out two.
Despite seven hits, the Bluefield offense couldn’t mount an attack. Hagen Danner had a pair of hits including a double while Hunter Steinmetz, Luis De Los Santos, D.J. Neal, Alejandro Kirk and Jose Theran each had a single.

GCL Blue Jays 7, GCL Yankees East 1
The GCL Blue Jays scored in four different innings, beating the GCL Yankees East 7-1. Three players had two-hit days for the Blue Jays with Rafael Lantigua (2/5, 2B, 3B, 2 R), Hector Guerrero (2/4, BB, 2B, 3B, RBI, 3 R) and Aldo Ovando (2/3, 2 RBI, SF) coming through. Cal Stevenson was 1/3 with a double, a sac fly, a walk and a run as he hits .474 so far in his professional debut. Notably, Addison Barger (1/4, BB, R) was playing shortstop and Jordan Groshans was not in the lineup.
Emanuel Vizcaino had a strong start, allowing three hits and two walks in four innings, striking out three. Ryan Thurston went one inning, striking out one and Yunior Hinojosa followed with two frames, allowing a run on two hits with one strikeout. Gage Burland struck out two in his inning of work and Anderson Nunez gave up a hit and a walk with two strikeouts in the ninth.

DSL Blue Jays 4, DSL Reds 6
The DSL Blue Jays fell to the DSL Reds 6-4 in Dominican action on Tuesday. Santos Moreno started and allowed three runs on six hits including a home run without walking anyone and striking out five batters in four innings. Jhoan Dominguez tossed 2 2/3 innings, allowing two runs on four hits with three strikeouts and William Gonzalez gave up an unearned run, walking two and striking out three in 1 1/3 innings.
Miguel Hiraldo is still coming down to earth, going 1/4 with a double and an RBI and striking out twice while also committing his eighth error of the season, this time at shortstop. Jhon Solarte was 2/4 with an RBI, a run and an outfield assist while Rainer Nunez, playing third base, was 2/4 with a double, a triple and two runs.
