It was a rough day for the Blue Jays’ minor league affiliates, going 2-5 in seven games with the Buffalo Bisons playing a double header and the Bluefield Blue Jays rained out.
Buffalo Bisons 0, Louisville Bats 3
The Buffalo Bisons emerged from their travel day to start their double header against the Louisville Bats with a 3-0 shutout loss. The Bisons had just two hits (singles from Dalton Pompey and Anthony Alford, who added a stolen base but was also picked off and caught stealing), and Rowdy Tellez came out of the game after his first at bat.
Marco Estrada started for the Bisons, giving up three runs on three hits (including two home runs) with two walks and three strikeouts. He came out of the game with an injury after 3 1/3 innings. Zach Steward came on and gave up a hit and struck out one in 1 2/3 innings before Roberto Osuna, continuing his rehab before his suspension is over, finished with two hits and a walk with one strikeout in the sixth.

Roster Notes: Tim Mayza was optioned to the Bisons and Ryan Borucki was promoted to start for the Blue Jays. Marco Estrada and Roberto Osuna were assigned to the Bisons for rehab.

Buffalo Bisons 3, Louisville Bats 4
The Buffalo Bisons tied up the game in the bottom of the sixth inning after the Louisville Bats scored three runs in the top half but eventually surrendered one in the eighth and lost 4-3, losing both halves of the double header. Richard Urena hit a solo home run, going 1/4 while Tim Lopes was 2/3 with a double, a stolen base and an RBI. Jonathan Davis and Dalton Pompey each hit a double with Pompey scoring a run and Davis driving one in.
Matt Tracy started this one, allowing two runs on three hits and two walks with five strikeouts in 5 2/3 innings and Craig Breslow allowed his inherited runner to score along with another run (on a home run) allowing four hits in 2/3 of an inning. Justin Shafer gave up an unearned run but allowed one of Breslow’s two runners to score, walking a batter in 1 2/3 innings.

New Hampshire Fisher Cats 2, Reading Fightin Phils 5
A five-run fifth inning gave the Reading Fightin Phils more than they needed to beat the New Hampshire Fisher Cats 5-2. T.J. Zeuch took the loss, giving up five runs on seven hits including a home run with a walk and six strikeouts over five innings. Zach Jackson walked one and struck out one in 1 1/3 innings and Kirby Snead allowed a hit in his 1 1/3 frames. Andrew Case gave up two hits and struck out one batter in 1/3 of an inning to finish the game.
Bo Bichette was 2/5 with a tirple and a run while Juan Kelly was 3/4 with a double and a run. Harold Ramirez also contributed, going 2/3 with a double and a walk. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. was 1/5 with a double, seeing his batting average slide to .401.

Dunedin Blue Jays 1, Lakeland Flying Tigers 5
The Dunedin Blue Jays lost 5-1 to the Lakeland Flying Tigers, getting little offense to support starter Yennsy Diaz. Diaz allowed three runs over 5 2/3 innings, striking out seven but giving up six hits and three walks. Andy Ravel stranded a runner in the sixth but allowed two runs of his own in the seventh, giving up three hits and striking out two over 1 1/3 innings. Angel Perdomo, coming off the DL, was put to work in the eighth inning, allowing a walk and a hit and striking out two.
Brock Lundquist had a perfect day, going 2/2 with two walks while Logan Warmoth was 1/4 with a double and an RBI.

Vancouver Canadians 4, Everett AquaSox 3
The Vancouver Canadians came back with two runs in the seventh and hung on for a 4-3 win to open their series against the Everett AquaSox. Griffin Conine was 1/4 with a solo home run and Jesus Severino was 2/4 with a double and two runs and Mc Gregory Contreras was 2/4 with two doubles, an RBI and a run.
Elio Silva sent the first four innings, allowing three runs on five hits (including a home run) with four walks and three strikeouts. Joey Pulido got the win, allowing two hits and striking out two in two innings while Marcus Reyes provided another two scoreless innings of relief, walking two and striking out one. Cobi Johnson got the save, striking out one in the ninth.

Game postponed due to rain.
GCL Blue Jays 7, GCL Yankees East 3
The GCL Blue Jays got a three-run home run from Joseph Reyes and four RBI from Gabriel Moreno on their way to a 7-3 victory over the GCL Yankees East. Moreno was 2/4 with a double, four RBI and a run while Reyes drove in three, going 1/4. Steward Berroa was a force at the top of the lineup, going 2/3 with a double, two walks, a stolen base and two runs. Yhordegny Kely was 1/4 with a double.
Danny Barnes began his way back to Toronto with an inning of work, allowing a run on three hits with two strikeouts. Emanuel Vizcaino then went five one-hit innings, allowing a run with two walks and three strikeouts. Williams Moreno allowed an unearned run on a hit and a walk with two strikeouts in two innings and Gaudy Ramirez pitched a perfect ninth, striking out one.

DSL Blue Jays 6, DSL D-backs1 7
Although the DSL Blue Jays mustered more offense in a six-run, 10-hit attack against the DSL D-backs1, they ended up giving up a pair of runs in the bottom of the 10th, losing 7-6 in extra innings. Jhon Solarte (2/5, RBI, SB), Jose Rivas (2/5, RBI, 2 R) and Rainer Nunez (2/4, 2B, RBI, R) had two hits each while Alberto Rodriguez was 1/2 before coming out of the game early. His replacement, Alonso Concepcion, was 1/3. Geyber Jimenez was 1/4 with an RBI. Miguel Hiraldo was 0/2 and came out of the game after flying out to center field in the third inning.
Alexis Carmona started for the DSL Jays, going five innings and allowing four runs (three earned) on eight hits and a walk with four strikeouts. Erick Teran allowed a run on five hits and a walk with one strikeout in three innings and William Gonzalez gave up two runs (one earned) on three hits in the ninth, striking out one.
