Congrats are in order to two minor leaguers in the Blue Jays’ system who took home some hardware courtesy of their minor leagues this week.

In the Eastern League, Casey Lawrence, just off the disabled list for the New Hampshire Fisher Cats, earned their Pitcher of the Week honours thanks to a near-perfect game in the first half of a double header. Lawrence ended up throwing a complete game (seven innings for a double header) and allowing just one hit, which came with two outs in the seventh. Additionally, Lawrence struck out eight batters, setting a new season high, besting his seven strikeouts on April 22 against the very same New Britain Rock Cats.

Down in the Northwest League, the Vancouver Canadians’ first baseman, Ryan McBroom earned the Player of the Week award thanks to a very strong .379/.400/.689 slash line with three doubles and two home runs. Drafted by the Blue Jays in the 15th round of this year’s draft, McBroom leads the Canadians with three home runs and a .954 OPS through 45 at bats.

Congrats to this week’s Minor League honourees from the Blue Jays’ organization!
