On Thursday, weather played a factor in two of the Toronto Blue Jays’ minor league games with the Buffalo Bisons cutting their game short and the Dunedin Blue Jays suspending theirs. The club also lost another game for the New Hampshire Fisher Cats who are still struggling with COVID-19 protocols. The overall record of the club was 3-1 in four completed games.
Buffalo Bisons 6, Syracuse Mets (NYM) 4
The Buffalo Bisons (67-41) didn’t let a little bit of rain or a wet field get in the way of running their winning streak to 11 games, beating the Syracuse Mets 6-4 in five and a half innings.
Left fielder Logan Warmoth did a lot of damage, going 1/2 with a two-run home run in the fifth inning while Tyler White hit a three-run shot, also in the fifth, going 1/3. Otto Lopez was 1/3 with an RBI and a run and Reggie Pruitt was 1/1 with a walk and a run. Christian Colon was 1/2 with a run.
Veteran Casey Lawrence as on the mound to start, tossing five innings of one-run ball, allowing four hits (one HR) with a walk and seven strikeouts for the win. Curtis Taylor allowed three runs on three hits (one HR) in the sixth before Ryan Borucki came on but didn’t throw a pitch before the game was called due to rain.

New Hampshire Fisher Cats, Reading Fightin Phils (PHI)

Vancouver Canadians 14, Spokane Indians (COL) 5
The Vancouver Canadians (53-58) unloaded with another offensive barrage over 10 runs, beating the Spokane Indians 14-5.
Catcher Philip Clarke (who was DHing in this one) drove in a whopping eight runs, going 3/4 with two doubles and a home run, continuing his red-hot streak. Zac Cook, in the leadoff spot, was 3/3 with three doubles and a walk, scoring three times an Spencer Horwitz was 2/4 with an RBI and three runs. Rafael Lantigua was 2/3 with two walks, two RBI and four runs while Justin Ammons was 1/4 with a walk and a double, scoring twice. Davis Schneider was 1/5 with an RBI and Tanner Morris was 1/5 with a run.
The starter was Andrew Bash who allowed four runs (three earned) on four hits and four walks, striking out two in five innings for the win. Justin Maese allowed a run on a hit and a run, striking out two in two innings while Roither Hernandez allowed two hits and struck out one in the eighth. Hagen Danner struck out two in the ninth, allowing a hit.

Dunedin Blue Jays, Tampa Tarpons (NYY)
Game suspended in the bottom of the fourth with the Blue Jays leading the Tampa Tarpons 5-0.
FCL Blue Jays 6, FCL Yankees 9
The biggest news from the FCL Blue Jays’ (23-24) game was that catcher Gabriel Moreno got into some action on his rehab assignment despite the club’s 9-6 loss.
Moreno was 3/3 with a double and a run before coming out of the game (likely so as to not fatigue him in his first game back) while Rainer Nunez was 2/5 with two runs. Rikelvin De Castro was 2/4 with two RBI and Emmanuel Sanchez was 2/4. Jaden Rudd contributed two RBI with a 1/4 performance, walking and scoring a run. Gabriel Martinez was 1/3 with a stolen base and Amell Brazoban was 1/2 with a double and a run. Darlin Guzman was 1/1 with two walks and an RBI taking over for Brazoban.
On the mound, Colton Laws struck out two in one inning while Cuban lefty Kendry Rojas struck out a whopping 11 batters in four innings, allowing a run on three hits and a walk. Kelvin Perez allowed two runs on three hits with two walks and three strikeouts in one inning and Wilgenis Alvarado allowed five runs on two hits and three walks with one strikeout in 1 1/3 innings. Brayan Mejia allowed two inherited runners to score, giving up a run of his own on two hits and walk with one strikeout in 1 2/3 innings.

DSL Blue Jays 4, DSL Orioles1 2
The DSL Blue Jays (24-15) beat the DSL Orioles1 4-2 thanks to two runs in the top of the ninth.
Robert Robertis led the offense, going 3/3 with two runs while Yeuni Munoz was 2/4 with a double, a walk and a run. Martin Gimenez was 2/4 with a stolen base and Endri Garcia was 1/4 with an RBI and a run. Luis Garcia was 1/5 and Francisco Fajardo and Victor Arias walked twice with Arias picking up an RBI.
Sergio Caruci had a solid start, allowing just two runs on six hits (one HR) with a walk and five strikeouts in five innings. Brahiam Jimenez got his first win, striking out two and walking one in three scoreless innings. Yondrei Rojas struck out two in the ninth for the save.
