September 12, 2018 Toronto Blue Jays Minor League Report: Fisher Cats Go Up 2-0

The New Hampshire Fisher Cats are now 2-0 in their series against Akron as they vie for an Eastern League title.

 

New Hampshire Fisher Cats 3, Akron RubberDucks 1

 

Starter Jon Harris was stellar as the New Hampshire Fisher Cats took a 2-0 lead in their best-of-five series against the Akron RubberDucks witha 6-1 win. Harris went 6 1/3 innings, striking out seven and giving up just one run on five hits without walking anyone to pick up the win. Jackson McClelland came on in the seventh, stranding a runner but giving up a hit and striking out one over two batters. Kirby Snead had two runners on when he came in but stranded both, getting all four batters he faced out. Corey Copping struck out three in the ninth to seal the win.

Forrest Wall had another two hits, going 2/4 with a stolen base and a run and Gunnar Heidt was 2/4 with a run. Bo Bichette was 2/5 and Jon Berti drove in two runs, going 1/5 with a run. Cavan Biggio was 1/4 with a walk, an RBI and a run and Joshua Palacios and Santiago Espinal were each 1/3 with a walk with Palacios scoring a run and Espinal driving one in.
