The New Hampshire Fisher Cats rolled to victory in their game but they were the only Blue Jays affiliate to come away from Monday’s action with a win.
Buffalo Bisons 3, Rochester Red Wings 7
The Buffalo Bisons wasted a strong start by Sam Gaviglio, losing 7-3 to the Rochester Red Wings in the opener of their series. Gaviglio went six scoreless innings, allowing on ly five hits and striking out six batters. Taylor Guerrieri was charged with five runs in the seventh, allowing three hits (including a home run) and one walk with one strikeout. Murphy Smith allowed two more runs in 1 1/3 innings, giving up five hits (including a home run) and a walk with one strikeout before Al Alburquerque finished the game, stranding two runners and allowing a hit while getting a strikeout in two-thirds of an inning.
Dwight Smith Jr. had a pair of hits, driving in a run and scoring once while Rowdy Tellez was 1/3 with a walk, a stolen base and an RBI. Ian Parmley was 1/4 with a run and Reese McGuire was 1/4. Darnell Sweeney was 1/3 with a double, a sacrifice fly, an RBI and a run.

Roster Notes: Gift Ngoepe cleared waivers and was sent outright to Buffalo. Conor Fisk was sent down to the New Hampshire Fisher Cats.

New Hampshire Fisher Cats 10, Portland Sea Dogs 2
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. was the talk of the baseball world as a camera crew captured him hitting a ball over the fence the opposite way off a tee. Guerrero had also just been named the Eastern League’s Player of the Week for the second time this year and then Guerrero decided to destroy the visiting Portland Sea Dogs as the Fisher Cats cruised to a 10-2 victory. Guerrero was 2/5 with two home runs and five RBI and is hitting .398 after the game. Cavan Biggio got into the act too, hitting his team-leading seventh home run, going 2/4 with the solo blast. Bo Bichette was on base four times, going 1/2 with a double and three walks, driving in a run, scoring twice and stealing a base. Jonathan Davis scored twice, going 1/4 with a walk and a double.
Sean Reid-Foley had another strong start, tossing five innings and giving up just two runs on four hits (including a home run) and two walks with eight strikeouts. Dusty Isaacs threw a scoreless sixth, striking out one and walking one before Nick Tepesch registered a three-inning save (likely moved to the bullpen to make room for T.J. Zeuch who has been spotted in New Hampshire), allowing just a hit and two walks with four strikeouts.

Dunedin Blue Jays 5, Bradenton Marauders 7
Making his long-anticipated season debut for the Dunedin Blue Jays, Nate Pearson returned to the mound after an oblique injury and only pitched 1 2/3 innings before getting hit by a line drive right back at him in a 7-5 loss to the Bradenton Marauders. Pearson gave up three runs (two earned) on five hits including a home run with one strikeout in 1 2/3 innings before he came out of the game. Juliandry Higuera took over and gave up three runs of his own in 2 1/3 innings, allowing four hits and two walks with two strikeouts. Justin Dillon fanned six in 3 2/3 innings, allowing a run on three hits (including a home run) and two walks. Nick Hartman struck out two in 1 1/3 innings, allowing a hit to close out the game.
Bradley Jones drove the offense, going 3/5 with a double, two runs and an RBI while Nash Knight was 0/2 with an RBI, two walks and two runs. Riley Adams was 1/4 with a walk and a run and John La Prise was 1/4 with a double and a walk. Eduard Pinto was 1/3 with a double, a walk and an RBI. Newly promoted Kacy Clemens was 0/5 with two strikeouts in his Dunedin debut.

Lansing Lugnuts 5, Wisconsin Timber Rattlers 6
The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers walked it off against the Lansing Lugnuts, coming back and scoring a run in the eighth and a run in the ninth to finish with a 6-5 win. Christian Williams led the offense, going 3/4 with a home run and two runs while Brock Lundquist continues to hit well, going 2/4 with a double and an RBI. With Kacy Clemens moved up to Dunedin, Ryan Noda played first base, going 0/3 with a walk and was caught stealing. Chavez Young shone all over the diamond, going 1/4 with a walk, a triple, two runs and two outfield assists and Kevin Smith was 2/5 with a double, a triple, an RBI and a run. Reggie Pruitt, in his first game back from the DL was 1/4 with a double.
Zach Logue had a rough start, going six innings but giving up eight hits (including two home runs) and two walks to total four runs with six strikeouts. Matt Shannon tossed 1 2/3 innings, getting charged with a run on a hit and two walks and three strikeouts before leaving the bases loaded for Ty Tice who gave up a run charged to Shannon and one of his own, unearned, on two hits in 1/3 of an inning.
