There were only two games played in the Jays’ minor leagues with both teams winning and Addison Barger having a huge day, hitting for the cycle.

Vancouver Canadians 3, Everett AquaSox (SEA) 0

 

The Vancouver Canadians’ (14-8) dominated the Everett AquaSox and picked up the shutout in a 3-0 win.

Starter Nick Fraze was outstanding in the win, going six shutout innings with only two hits and a walk against him, striking out seven. Brandon Eisert allowed just a hit and struck out three in two innings and Justin Maese got the save, striking out two in one inning, allowing a hit and a walk.

Ryan Gold hit his second home run of the year, going 2/4 with an RBI and a run while DJ Neal was 1/4 with an RBI and Luis De Los Santos was 1/4 with a run and a stolen base.

Dunedin Blue Jays 14, Tampa Tarpons (NYY) 7

 

The Dunedin Blue Jays’ (7-15) offense (Addison Barger in particular) exploded, pounding the Tampa Tarpons for 14 runs on 15 hits and came away with the win despite the defense committing three errors.

Barger led the offense, going 5/5 with a (super) cycle, hitting a single, a double, a triple and two(!) home runs, driving in seven and scoring three times. Zac Cook was also on the multi-hit parade, going 2/2 with a walk a double, three RBI and two runs while Orelvis Martinez was 2/5 with an RBI and two runs. Miguel Hiraldo was 2/4 with a walk and three runs while Mack Mueller was 1/5 with two RBI and a run but he did make two errors. Steward Berroa was 2/5 with a stolen base and a run.

Sem Robberse started and allowed four runs (three earned) on three hits (one HR) with a walk and five strikeouts in three innings. Patrick Murphy pitched a 1-2-3 inning in relief on his rehab assignment while Juan De Paula allowed a run on a hit and three walks with one strikeout in 1 2/3 innings. Lazaro Estrada finished it off, allowing two unearned runs on three hits with eight strikeouts in 3 2/3 innings.
