Sunday was not a day to remember watching the Blue Jays’ minor league clubs. In the four games, the teams allowed 39 runs to score and, despite scoring 19 runs of their own, none of the teams came away with a victory.
Buffalo Bisons 5, Toledo Mud Hens 8
The Buffalo Bisons had a rare bullpen collapse on Sunday, wasting a very strong start by Felix Doubront who only allowed three hits and two walks while striking out three. Greg Infante thew a scoreless inning but it was the trio of Colt Hynes, Bobby Korecky and Luis Perezwho combined to allow all eight runs in the eighth inning. Hynes pitched to only two batters, allowing a hit and a run and Korecky couldn’t strand them, allowing three hits and a walk with just one out to his credit. Luis Perez came in with two runners on and allowed them both to score despite not being charged with a run of his own.
The offense had a solid game overall with ten hits including three (two singles and a double) for Chris Dickerson. Andy Burns was 2/5 with a double and a home run, driving in four runs while Sean Ochinko was 2/4.

Dunedin Blue Jays 4, St. Lucie Mets 7

Starter Justin Shafer allowed six runs (three earned) on seven hits and two walks in three innings and Jeremy Gabryszwski threw another three innings, allowing only one run but scattered five hits and two walks. Starlyn Suriel, relieving him, managed just three innings of his own with six runs (three earned) on seven hits and three walks with three strikeouts. Colton Turner allowed a run in two innings on another four hits and Michael Kraft threw a scoreless ninth with two strikeouts.
Richard Urena has been red hot and he was 2/5 with two RBI while Rowdy Tellez, apparently furious that a shortstop held the team lead in home runs, tied Urena with his sixth of the year, going 1/4 with a walk and three RBI, Tim Locastro was 1/2 with two walks and an RBI and Anthony Alford was 1/3 with two walks to push his batting average to .327 and his OBP to a whopping .469.
