Over five games on Friday, including a double header in New Hampshire, the Blue Jays’ affiliates won three games and lost two.
Buffalo Bisons 5, Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders 1
The Buffalo Bisons got a great start from Ryan Borucki and some fireworks from Lourdes Gurriel as the Bisons opened their series with the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders by winning 5-1. Borucki went seven scoreless innings, giving up just three hits and one walk with six strikeouts. Conor Fisk tossed a scoreless eighth, striking out two and Luis Santos allowed a run in the ninth, giving up a hit and striking out one.
The Bisons had just five hits, but one of them was a grand slam by Lourdes Gurriel in the fourth inning. Danny Jansen was 1/2 with two walks and a run while Rowdy Tellez drove in the club’s other run with a sacrifice fly, scoring once and going 1/3.

Roster Notes: Deck McGuire was recalled by the Blue Jays and Josh DeGraaf was sent back to Dunedin.

New Hampshire Fisher Cats 3, Binghamton Rumble Ponies 2
In the first game of their double header on Friday, the New Hampshire Fisher Cats got a walk-off single in the eighth inning from Max Pentecost to give the Fisher Cats a 3-2 win over the Binghamton Rumble Ponies. Pentcost was 1/3 with an RBI and a walk. Harold Ramirez had kept the inning alive with a double, going 1/4 on the game. Jonathan Davis was 2/4 with a double and two runs while Vladimir Guerrero was 2/4 with a double and an RBI. Andrew Guillotte had two hits, going 2/3 with a stolen base and Cavan Biggio was 1/2 wtih two walks and a run, stealing a base and also getting caught stealing.
Sean Reid-Foley was very solid on the mound, going six innings and giving up two runs on four hits and three walks with six strikeouts. Kirby Snead tossed two scoreless frames to get the win, striking out two and giving up a hit and a walk.

New Hampshire Fisher Cats 3, Binghamton Rumble Ponies 6
In the second game of the double header, an old friend, Scott Copeland (former Blue Jay and Fisher Cat), took to the mound and made the hitters look silly for most of his outing as the Rumble Ponies beat the Fisher Cats 6-3. The Fisher Cats had just six hits overall (just four against Copeland) and the Fisher Cats got all three of their runs (taking the lead temporarily) thanks to a bases loaded double by Harold Ramirez who also drew a walk. Max Pentecost and Juan Kelly each had a hit and a walk while Vladimir Guerrero Jr. was 0/2 with a walk and was hit by a pitch, scoring a run.
T.J. Zeuch got the start, giving up five runs on seven hits and a walk with two strikeouts in 5 2/3 innings. Zach Jackson came on with two runners on and promptly gave up a home run on his second pitch of the game, only allowing that one hit in 1 1/3 innings.

Dunedin Blue Jays 6, Tampa Tarpons 5
The Dunedin Blue Jays got a win by leaving Tampa, defeating the Daytona Tortugas 6-5 on Friday. Logan Warmoth continues to heat up, going 3/5 with a stolen base and a run while Alberto Mineo was 2/4 with a walk and an RBI. Kacy Clemens was 2/4 with a run. Nash Knight drove in a pair of runs, going 1/4 with a double and D.J. Davis hit his first home run, going 1/4.
Matthew Gunter started, allowing a run on two hits and a walk with four strikeouts in four innings. Jonathan Cheshire gave up a run on two hits (including a home run) and a walk with three strikeouts in 1 1/3 innings to earn the win. Jake Fishman retired both batters he faced, striking out one and Jackson McClelland made his return to action, allowing a solo home run and striking out one in an inning. Nick Hartman allowed two runs in 1 2/3 innings, giving up five hits and striking out three before Travis Bergen came on to strand the runner he inherited.

Roster Notes: Bryan Hudson was released by the Dunedin Blue Jays and Josh DeGraaf was sent back to Dunedin from Buffalo. Joel Espinal was placed on the restricted list after testing positive for a performance enhancing drug and Jackson McClelland was activated off the DL. Devin Malone was also released.

Lansing Lugnuts 3, Dayton Dragons 6
Despite 10 hits, the Lansing Lugnuts could only score three times in a 6-3 loss to the Dayton Dragons. Kevin Vicuna was 2/5 with a triple and Brock Lundquist (2/3, R), Samad Taylor (2/4, 2B, RBI, R) and Ryan Noda (2/3, BB, RBI) each had two hits while Taylor and Noda each stole a base. Chavez Young, back in the lineup, was 1/4 with a double.
Zach Logue had a stellar start, striking out seven over seven innings, giving up two runs with seven hits (including one home run). Matt Shannon allowed the other four runs (three earned) with two hits and three walks and Kyle Weatherly finished the game with a clean ninth inning.

Roster Notes: Christian Williams and Graham Spraker were placed on the DL and Andrew Deramo was sent to Lansing from extended spring training.
