The Blue Jays’ affiliates went 1-3 with a stellar pitching performance helping to give the New Hampshire Fisher Cats the organization’s only win on Sunday.
Buffalo Bisons 6, Lehigh Valley IronPigs (PHI) 7
The Buffalo Bisons were edged out in 11 innings as the Lehigh Valley IronPigs took the victory by a 7-6 score.
Billy McKinney, Reese McGuire and Andy Burns each had three hits with McKinney coming just a home run short of the cycle, scoring twice while McGuire drove in five runs, going 3/4 with a sac fly and a double. Burns was 3/4 with a walk. Socrates Brito and Anthony Alford each had a single with Alford stealing a base and scoring while Alen Hanson was 1/5. Patrick Kivlehan was 2/4 with a walk and two runs.
David Phelps, working his way back to the majors, tossed the first inning, striking out one and Ryan Feierabend took over, allowing two runs on five hits (including a home run) with two walks and three strikeouts in four innings. Matt Dermody gave up three runs on three hits (including two home runs), striking out one while Justin Shafer allowed a run in the eighth, blowing the save, giving up a solo home run with two strikeouts. Jordan Romano pitched a scoreless ninth, giving up a hit and striking out one while Conor Fisk walked one and struck out one in the 10th before Kirby Snead to the loss, allowing an unearned run on a hit and a walk in the 11th.

Roster Note: Shawn Morimando was placed on the 7-day IL while Maximo Castillo was promoted to Buffalo and Jon Harris was sent to Dunedin to start a rehab assignment.
New Hampshire Fisher Cats 2, Richmond Flying Squirrels (SF) 0
The New Hampshire Fisher Cats’ pitching staff dominated the Richmond Flying Squirrels, giving up just one hit in a 2-0 shutout win.
The Blue Jays’ top pitching prospect, Nate Pearson, was on the mound to start the game and he was almost perfect, giving up just an infield single (that some contend should have been called an out) over five innings, striking out three and not walking anyone while getting seven groundouts and just three fly outs. Willy Ortiz followed, getting the win (as the Fisher Cats didn’t score until the sixth) by tossing four perfect innings, striking out three.
The Fisher Cats got two hits including a double from Forrest Wall who was 2/3 with a walk, a run and a stolen base (but he was also caught stealing) and Vinny Capra was 2/4 with a run and was caught stealing. Chad Spanberger brought both runs in with a double and Christian Williams was 1/2 with a walk. Riley Adams didn’t get a hit but he contributed by throwing out both runners who tried to steal off him.

Dunedin Blue Jays 6, Bradenton Marauders (PIT) 4
A familiar face started for the Dunedin Blue Jays but the result wasn’t pretty as the Jays lost 13-7 to the Bradenton Marauders.
Jon Harris made his first start of the year, going just 2 2/3 innings and striking out six but he also allowed three home runs on nine hits leading to seven runs with a walk. Emerson Jimenez stranded the runner he inherited from Harris, going 1 1/3 innings of scoreless ball. Justin Dillon took over in the fifth, giving up another six runs (five earned) on seven hits (including a home run) with two walks and four strikeouts in three innings. Connor Law finished the game, allowing a hit and two walks with two strikeouts in two innings.
Canadian Demi Orimoloye had a big game, going 2/3 with a home run, two RBI, three runs and a stolen base. Samad Taylor also had a big game, going 3/4 with a double, two RBI and a run, adding a stolen base while Logan Warmoth was 1/4 with a walk, two RBI and a run. Ryan Noda was 1/5 with a double and an RBI and Christopher Bec was 1/5 with a double while Chavez Young was also 1/5. Norberto Obeso was 1/4 with a run and Kacy Clemens was 0/2 but walked twice, scored a run and stole a base.

Lansing Lugnuts 2, Lake County Captains (CLE) 5
The Lansing Lugnuts fell to the Lake County Captains 5-2 on Sunday.
The Lugs had just five hits including a single and a double from Rafael Lantigua who drove in a run and scored once. D.J. Neal was 1/3 with a walk and an RBI, stealing a base while Jake Brodt was 1/4 with a stolen base. Reggie Pruitt was 1/5 with a stolen base and Gabriel Moreno walked and scored and Nick Podkul was 0/3 but walked twice and Ryan Gold was hit by a pitch twice.
Josh Winckowski took the loss, giving up four runs on five hits (including a home run) with three walks and eight strikeouts in five innings. Marcus Reyes allowed a hit and a run in two innings, striking out one and Will McAffer finished it, giving up a run on a hit and two walks with two strikeouts in the eighth.
