It was a light night in the minor leagues as the focus was on the MLB draft but the Blue Jays had two teams in action on Monday with both of them coming away with wins.

Roster Notes: Nick Hartman was promoted back up to New Hampshire from Dunedin.

 

Dunedin Blue Jays 5, Charlotte Stone Crabs 4

 

The Dunedin Blue Jays opened up their series with the Charlotte Stone Crabs by beating them 5-4 on Monday. The offense was led by Bradley Jones who was 3/5 with a home run, two RBI and two runs. Joshua Palacios was 2/4 with an RBI and a run while John La Prise was 2/4 with an RBI. Kacy Clemens was 1/3 with a walk and a run while Riley Adams was 1/3 with a walk.

Zach Logue started for the Blue Jays, picking up his first Florida State League win by going 6 1/3 innings and giving up four runs on seven hits with five strikeouts. Jake Fishman came on with a runner on in the seventh and stranded him, throwing 1 2/3 innings, allowing two hits and a walk with two strikeouts. Jackson McClelland picked up his third save throwing a clean ninth.

DSL Blue Jays 10, DSL Reds 4

 

Alberto Rodriguez

The DSL Blue Jays recovered from their awful start to the season by squaring their record with a 10-4 win over the DSL Reds. Alberto Rodriguez led the offense, going 2/4 with a home run and four RBI, adding a stolen base. Rainer Nunez was also 2/4, hitting a double, driving in a run and scoring twice. Jose Rivas added a couple of hits to his resume, going 2/3 with two walks and two runs, stealing two bases. Erickvi Celedonio was 1/3 with a walk, an RBI and two runs.

Junior Guzman started for the DSL Blue Jays, allowing two runs on four hits and two walks with a strikeout in three innings. Erick Teran got the win, giving up two more runs on three hits and a walk with three strikeouts. Miguel Olivo got the save, giving up three hits and striking out one in three innings.
