The Toronto Blue Jays’ minor league affiliates went 3-4 over their seven games on Wednesday.

 

Buffalo Bisons 2, Pawtucket Red Sox 10

 

Danny Jansen

The Pawtucket Red Sox beat the Buffalo Bisons by a 10-2 score on Wednesday. Danny Jansen was the sole bright light, going 2/4 with a home run and two RBI. Anthony Alford was 1/3 with a walk and a stolen base and Dwight Smith Jr. was 0/2 with two walks and a run.

Nick Tepesch started and allowed five runs (four earned) on six hits (including a home run) and four walks in 2 2/3 innings. Luis Santos struck out six in 2 1/3 innings, allowing two runs (one earned) on five hits. Al Alburquerque gave up three runs in 1 2/3 innings, allowing five hits and a walk with one strikeout. Tim Mayza struck out one over 1 1/3 innings.

New Hampshire Fisher Cats 10, Erie SeaWolves 9

 

The New Hampshire Fisher Cats battled back in a back-and-forth battle against the Erie SeaWolves, scoring two in the top of the 10th and held on for a 10-9 victory. Connor Panas blasted his third home run of the year, going 2/3 with a walk, three RBI and three runs scored. Bo Bichette was 2/6 with a double and a run while Juan Kelly was 2/3 with a double, two walks, an RBI and two runs. Patrick Cantwell also had two hits (two doubles) and drove in two. Andrew Guillotte scored twice, going 1/4 with an RBI.

Josh DeGraaf allowed five runs on five hits (including two home runs) and a walk with four strikeouts over four innings. Nick Hartman gave up four hits in an inning, leading to one run and Jose Fernandez allowed a run over two innings on two hits with two strikeouts. Zach Jackson also gave up a run on a hit and two walks with two strikeouts over two innings and Andrew Case earned the save, allowing an unearned run) on two hits and a walk in the 10th.

Dunedin Blue Jays 5, St. Lucie Mets 4

 

Eduard Pinto

The Dunedin Blue Jays walked one off in 11 innings against the St. Lucie Mets, coming away with a 5-4 win. In the bottom of the 11th, with Alberto Mineo starting on second base, Kacy Clemens hit a single to center and Nash Knight brought Mineo home on a sacrifice fly to end the game. Eduard Pinto hit a three-run home run and went 2/4 while John La Prise was 2/4. Only David Jacob failed to get a hit as Nash Knight and Joshua Palacios each had a single, a run and a walk.

Zach Logue had another quality start, going seven innings and allowing three runs on seven hits and a walk with five strikeouts. William Ouellette allowed a run on two hits and a walk with one strikeout in the eighth and Ty Tice provided two scoreless frames with two strikeouts. Catcher Jonelvy Molina picked up the win, walking one but getting out of the top of the 11th without any damage.

Reilly Johnson

Sean Wymer made his professional debut, allowing four runs on four hits (including a home run) with two strikeouts in just 1 2/3 innings. Will McAffer followed, giving up a run on two hits and two walks with two strikeouts in one inning. Marcus Reyes finished the third, getting a fly out from the only batter he faced. Joey Murray went two scoreless innings, giving up a hit and a walk with two strikeouts and Nick Allgeyer struck out four, allowing just a hit in two innings. Dalton Rodriguez also provided two scoreless innings, giving up two hits and striking out two.

Catcher Reilly Johnson hit his first home run of the year, driving in two and going 1/4 while Nick Podkul drove in a pair, going 1/4 with a double.

Bluefield Blue Jays 0, Johnson City Cardinals 2

 

Eric Pardinho

In their second game of the season, the Bluefield Blue Jays were shut out, losing 2-0 to the Johnson City Cardinals. Brazilian phenom Eric Pardinho allowed a run on two hits and two walks with five strikeouts over four innings in his professional debut and he was followed by Cre Finfrock (1 IP, 2 K), Troy Watson (1 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 1 HR), Fitz Stadler (1 IP, 1 BB, 1 K), Grant Townsend (1 IP) and Brad Wilson (1 IP, 1 BB, 1 K).

Patrick Morris added two more hits to his resume, going 2/3 with a double and a walk while Davis Schneider was 2/3 in his season debut, playing second base.

GCL Blue Jays 3, GCL Phillies West 2

 

Leonardo Jimenez

The GCL Blue Jays took another win, beating the GCL Phillies West by a 3-2 score on Wednesday afternoon. Juan Diaz pitched five solid innings, allowing only four hits and a walk with four strikeouts. Alvery De Los Santos, being used in a piggyback role, tossed four innings, allowing two runs on five hits with two strikeouts to finish the game and earn the win.

Leonardo Jimenez started the game at shortstop, going 2/3 with a double while Joseph Reyes was 2/4 with an RBI and a run. Griffin Conine made his pro debut, getting an outfield assist and going 0/3 with a walk.

Roster Notes: Griffin Conine, Francisco Ruiz and Jake Brodt were added to the roster.

DSL Blue Jays 5, DSL White Sox 6

 

The DSL Blue Jays lost in walk-off fashion to the DSL White Sox, losing 6-5 on Wednesday. Erickvi Celedonio was 3/4 with a triple and an RBI while Miguel Hiraldo was 2/4 with a walk, an RBI and a run. Jhon Solarte Walked twice and scored but was caught stealing.

Alexis Carmona gave up all but one of the Blue Jays’ runs, allowing five runs on eight hits and a walk in three innings with two strikeouts. Brayan Mejia was solid in two frames, allowing just two hits with two strikeouts and Jose Brito struck out one in two perfect innings. William Gonzalez took the loss, allowing an unearned run on two hits in 1 1/3 innings, striking out two.
