The Buffalo Bisons swept a double-header and the Dunedin Blue Jays finally beat the Charlotte Stone Crabs but the Fisher Cats and DSL Blue Jays both lost in a 3-2 day for the Jays’ affiliates.
Buffalo Bisons 7, Charlotte Knights 3
In the first game of the double-header sweep, the Buffalo Bisons got a complete game from Randy Wolf who moves his record to 5-1 on the season. Wolf allowed three runs on four hits and two walks with six strikeouts in the seven-inning performance. With only five hits , the Bisons took advantage of three Charlotte errors while Matt Hague was 1/2 with a walk, a double and two runs scored and Josh Thole was 1/3 with a double and four RBI.
Roster Notes: Phil Coke was added to the Blue Jays’ bullpen while Scott Copeland was sent back down to Buffalo after his excellent spot start in Toronto. Melky Mesa was also promoted to Buffalo from New Hampshire and Chris Dickerson was placed on the DL.

Buffalo Bisons 4, Charlotte Knights 2
By virtue of Randy Wolf’s complete game in the first half of the twin bill, Bisons’ manager Gary Allenson used his bullpen to cover the second game. Jeff Francis went four innings without allowing a run, giving up just six hits without walking anyone and striking out four. Rob Rasmussen earned the win with one scoreless inning with two strikeouts while Greg Infante followed with another inning of keeping the Knights off the board. Charlotte finally scored off of Bobby Korecky with a two-run home run in the seventh.
The offense conjured nine hits in this one with another two (including a single and a double) from Matt Hague who is hitting .346. Luke Scott added a pair of hits and an RBI while Brad Glenn also had a double, going 1/3.

New Hampshire Fisher Cats 0, Akron RubberDucks 3
24-year-old righty Will Roberts threw his best stuff at the New Hampshire Fisher Cats, whitewashing the team and letting them come away with only one hit, from Dalton Pompey, the entire night. Taylor Cole picked up his sixth loss of the season, giving up just two runs on a home run in the first inning over his seven innings. He allowed only five hits without a walk and struck out five. Danny Barnes was tagged for an unearned run on three hits in the eighth.
Roster Notes: Melky Mesa was promoted to Buffalo and Jon Berti was activated from the DL.

Dunedin Blue Jays 4, Charlotte Stone Crabs 3
The Dunedin Blue Jays managed to snag a win from the Charlotte Stone Crabs with Jeff Hoffman on the mound. While his overall line doesn’t look all that impressive with three runs allowed on two home runs in 4 2/3 innings, he was very good through four innings. It was in the fifth that Hoffman ran into trouble, allowing home runs to the first two batters of the inning, striking out a batter, getting a ground out then allowing a double and a walk before he was replaced by Phil Kish. Kish struggled with his control when he entered the game, uncorking a wild pitch and walking the first two batters he faced to force in another run (also charged to Hoffman). Kish finished his outing with 2 1/3 innings without another run being charged to him but he walked three and gave up a hit. Wil Browning finished the game to earn his 11th save of the season with Dunedin, throwing two innings and striking out four.
Jonathan Davis (J.D.) led the hit parade with two singles and a double while Dawel Lugo drove in a pair with two singles. Matt Dean hit a two-run home run and Tolleson walked but was 0/3 in his return from injury.
Roster Notes: Steve Tolleson was sent to Dunedin on a rehab assignment.

Lansing Lugnuts, Quad Cities River Bandits

DSL Blue Jays 5, DSL Reds 10
The DSL Blue Jays had some trouble hitting, getting just four hits and six walks in their game against the Reds. Victor Figuereo had the only extra-base hit, a two-run home run, to go along with a walk. Jose Nova took the loss, allowing seven runs (six unearned) over three innings while Tommy Henriquez allowed two runs on six hits in 2 2/3 innings. Wilmin Lara allowed an unearned run on four hits in 2 1/3 innings and Alvaro Galindo was the only pitcher to keep the Reds off the board with one inning of no-hit (but two-walk) baseball.
