The Blue Jays’ affiliates had seven games on the docket with a double header in Dunedin and the two lowest-level clubs off and went 4-3.
Buffalo Bisons 0, Syracuse Chiefs 3
The Buffalo Bisons couldn’t keep their winning streak going, losing 3-0 to the Syracuse Chiefs. The Bisons were held to just five hits including a double from Roemon Fields who also walked and stole two bases and a triple from Richard Urena. Gio Urshela was 1/3 with a walk.
Chris Rowley had a strong start, going six innings and allowing just two runs on seven hits with one walk and six strikeouts. Matt Tracy threw a clean seventh and Murphy Smith gave up just a hit in the eighth, striking out one and Craig Breslow allowed a run on a hit and a walk to start the ninth, getting two outs before Zach Steward finished the inning by retiring the only batter he faced.

New Hampshire Fisher Cats 14, Reading Fightin Phils 2
The New Hampshire Fisher Cats, becoming the “Granite State Mountain Men” in a “What If?” promotion that saw the Fisher Cats taking on the name that was a finalist in the “Name the Team” contest back in 2004, snapped their losing streak by demolishing the Reading Fightin Phils 14-2. Harold Ramirez and Eduard Pinto had three hits each with Ramirez slamming a double, drawing a walk, driving in a run and scoring a run. pinto was 2/4 with a walk, an RBI, two runs and a stolen base. Jon Berti was 2/4 with two RBI, a run and a stolen base and Gunnar Heidt was on base three times, going 1/3 with two walks, a home run two RBI and two runs. Jonathan Davis was 1/4 but also added a walk, a home run and drove in four while scoring twice. Ryan Hissey was 1/4 with a double, a walk, an RBI and a run.
Jon Harris went four innings, giving up two solo home runs among six hits with three walks and five strikeouts. Nick Hartman picked up the win, going two innings and striking out three. Justin Dillon walked one and struck out one in two innings and Travis Bergen finished the game, striking out one and walking one in the ninth.

Dunedin Blue Jays 5, St. Lucie Mets 2
The Dunedin Blue Jays got their double header against the St. Lucie Mets off to a great start with a 5-2 win in the opener. Santiago Espinal was 1/4 with a three-run home run while Kacy Clemens, Ivan Castillo and Brock Lundquist were each 2/3.
Andy Ravel started, giving up two runs on two hits and three walks with one strikeout over 3 1/3 innings and Juliandry Higuera cleaned up the fourth inning, allowing two of three inherited runners to score and giving up two hits in 2/3 of an inning. Claudio Custodio went two strong innings for the win, allowing a hit with two strikeouts and Ty Tice picked up his third save, with a clean seventh.

Dunedin Blue Jays 2, St. Lucie Mets 1
The Dunedin Blue Jays cleaned up the St. Lucie Mets in the second game of their double header, behind a strong pitching performance from Yennsy Diaz in a 2-1 win. Diaz went six innings, allowing just a run on three hits with out walking anyone and striking out four batters. William Ouellette got his fourth save with a clean seventh.
Kevin Smith was 2/3 with an RBI and a run while Brock Lundquist had two more hits (giving him four for the day), pushing his average to .615 with the Dunedin Blue Jays. David Jacob was 2/2 with a walk and Joshua Palacios was 2/3. Santiago Espinal was 1/4 with a double.

Lansing Lugnuts 0, South Bend Cubs 10
The Lansing Lugnuts got shellacked by the South Bend Cubs, losing 10-0 on Sunday. Maximo Castillo allowed three of the runs (two earned), going four innings and giving up seven hits and a walk with three strikeouts. Orlando Pascual went two frames, allowing two runs on three hits and a walk with three strikeouts. Dalton Rodriguez allowed four runs on two hits and a walk in 1 1/3 innings and Brayden Bouchey allowed both inherited runners to score, giving up a run of his own on three hits with one strikeouts in 1 2/3 innings.
Freddy Rodriguez had two of the Lugnuts’ four hits with Chavez Young and Ryan Noda getting one each.

Vancouver Canadians 5, Spokane Indians 4
The Vancouver Canadians scored early and hung on to beat the Spokane Indians 5-4 on Sunday. Joey Murray started, going two innings and striking out four batters, giving up just one hit. Sean Wymer followed, allowing just a hit with two strikeouts in three innings. Nick Allgeyer followed, giving up two runs on a walk and a home run with three strikeouts in the sixth. Cobi Johnson faced the minimum over two innings, striking out one and Connor Law earned the save but allowed two runs on four hits with two strikeouts in the ninth.
Vinny Capra was on base three times, going 2/3 with a double, a hit by pitch, an RBI and a run, adding a stolen base. All of the other Canadians had a hit including Griffin Conine who was 1/2 with two walks and two runs, and Jake Brodt, who was 1/3 with a double, a walk and an RBI. Sterling Guzman and Brett Wright each had a single and an RBI.

Bluefield Blue Jays 3, Kingsport Mets 16
The Bluefield Blue Jays lost just their fourth game all season, getting hammered by the Kingsport Mets 16-3. Alvaro Galindo allowed five runs over three-plus innings, giving up six hits and three walks with three strikeouts. Mike Pascoe came in with the bases loaded and allowed all three runners to score, giving up three runs of his own on two hits and two walks in 1 1/3 innings. Joe DiBenedetto also came in with the bases loaded and let just one runner score but allowed four runs (three earned) of his own over one inning, walking two and giving up a home run. Josh Almonte also allowed four runs (three earned) in just 1/3 of an inning, also coming in with the bases loaded and letting all three runners come in. Joey Pulido walked one in 2 1/3 innings, striking out three and, normally a second baseman, Jose Theran finished the game, walking one and giving up a hit but no runs in the ninth.
Luis De Los Santos was 2/4 with a triple and Davis Schneider was 1/3 with a walk, an RBI and a run. Dominic Abbadessa was 1/4 with an RBI and Patrick Morris was 1/2 with two walks.
