With two doubleheaders, a rain-out and a scheduled off day on the books for the Jays’ minor league squads, they posted a 4-4 record on the day in the aftermath of the big Troy Tulowitzki trade that sent Jeff Hoffman, Miguel Castro and Jesus Tinoco to the Rockies along with Jose Reyes.
Buffalo Bisons 6, Syracuse Chiefs 0
The day after a close loss, the Buffalo Bisons roared back to shut down the Syracuse Chiefs getting seven scoreless innings from Canadian Jeff Francis who gave up just five hits and struck out four. Steve Delabar and Chad Jenkins each pitched a scoreless inning to nail down the victory. Munenori Kawasaki was 3/3 with a sacrifice bunt while Jon Berti had a big day, going 2/3 with a triple, a home run, a walk, three RBI and three runs. Alex Hassan and Andy Burns both had two hits.

New Hampshire Fisher Cats 5, Harrisburg Senators 0
In the second shutout of the day for a Blue Jays’ minor league team, the Fisher Cats pressed Scott Barnes into starting duty after Jeff Hoffman was traded to Colorado. Barnes responded with five no-hit innings, striking out four and not walking anyone. Jimmy Cordero provided two no-hit innings, walking two and striking out one while Chad Girodo succumbed to the Harrisburg Senators and allowed two hits in two innings.

Dunedin Blue Jays 2, Charlotte Stone Crabs 6
In Game 1 of a double header, the Blue Jays were held to just four hits while Sean-Reid Foley had a rough outing, allowing five runs in 4 2/3 innings. Matt Dermody finished things off allowing another run. Richard Urena hit a solo home run.

Dunedin Blue Jays 5, Charlotte Stone Crabs 11
Game 2 wasn’t any prettier with the Blue Jays getting just five hits including two doubles, a walk and three RBI from Dickie Joe Thon. Rowdy Tellez was 0/1 with three walks. On the mound, Alonzo Gonzalez allowed three runs in only three innings but just one of those was earned. Gonzalez had one walk and four strikeouts. Alberto Tirado took the loss, allowing four runs on four walks in just one inning while Arik Sikula allowed four runs on seven hits in two innings.
Player of the Game: Dickie Joe Thon
Lansing Lugnuts 5, Lake County Captains 3
The Lansing Lugnuts scored five runs in the first two innings and held on the rest of the way for the win. Dawel Lugo was 2/5 with two RBI while Christian Vazquez was 2/4 with a double. Jason Leblebijian took a pair of walks and stole a base to go with his double and RBI while David Harris was 1/4 with a walk, an RBI and two runs. Ryan McBroom walked twice and drove in a run with a sac fly but was otherwise 0/2.
Starlyn Suriel allowed six walks and three runs in just four innings but the bullpen was excellent. Tim Mayza got the win after two scoreless innings, giving up two hits and three walks. Phil Kish allowed just one walk in one inning and Jose Fernandez gave up three hits in two innings but also struck out three.

Scheduled Off Day
Bluefield Blue Jays 2, Princeton Rays 9
In the second double header in the Jays’ minor league system, the Bluefield Blue Jays dropped game one of the twin bill against the Princeton Rays, mustering only three hits including a double by Freddy Rodriguez. The club did take nine walks including three from Yeltsin Gudino and two each from Rodrigo Orozco and D.J. McKnight.
Jake Brentz took the start, going five innings and allowing two solo home runs among five hits and two walks while striking out three. John Kravetz, Zak Wasilewski, Zach Rogers and Joe Claver combined for the final two innings, allowing a combined seven runs (six earned).

Bluefield Blue Jays 5, Princeton Rays 2
In Game 2, the Blue Jays turned things around, picking up a win thanks to a solid start from Dalton Rodriguez who went five innings, allowing two runs on six hits with three strikeouts. Alberto Guzman finished off the game with two innings of one-hit ball, striking out two.

Game postponed due to rain
DSL Blue Jays 2, DSL Orioles1 3
The DSL Blue Jays took a rare loss, losing to the DSL Orioles1 squad 3-2. The offense had only six hits including two singles from Norberto Obeso. Guadalupe Chavez started and gave up just one run on five hits and two walks with four strikeouts. Wilmin Lara allowed two runs (one earned) in 1 1/3 innings and Alvaro Galindo finished the game with 2/3 of an inning.
