Lansing Lugnuts 2, Clinton LumberKings (MIA) 4

 

The Lansing Lugnuts lost the rubber match of their three-game series with the Clinton LumberKings 4-2 on Monday.

Fresh off the IL, Josh Hiatt started and threw three innings of one-(unearned)-run ball, giving up four hits before Sean Wymer came on and allowed three runs (two earned) on seven hits with five strikeouts over 5 2/3 innings. Cre Finfrock came on to retire the only batter he faced in the ninth.

Hunter Steinmetz had a strong game, going 2/3 with a walk while Tanner Kirwer had the club’s only extra-base hit, a triple, going 1/4 with an RBI. John Aiello was 1/3 with a stolen base and Jake Brodt was 1/4 with a stolen base. Gabriel Moreno was 1/3 and Otto Lopez was 1/5 with a run.

Vancouver Canadians 4, Tri-City Dust Devils (SD) 3

 

The Vancouver Canadians picked up their 15th win of the year, walking off against the Tri-City Dust Devils with a 4-3 win in 10 innings, completing the comeback victory when Luis De Los Santos singled home Adrian Ramos.

De Los Santos drove in two runs on the game, going 1/5 while Jesus Lopez (2/5, RBI), Cameron Eden (2/5, 2B) and Ronny Brito (2/4) had a pair of hits each. Dom Abbadessa (1/3), Tanner Morris (1/4, BB, R) and Mc Gregory Contreras (1/2, HBP) had a single each.

William Gaston had a solid start, allowing an unearned run on three hits with two walks and a strikeout over four innings. Luis Quinones was tagged for two runs on a hit and three walks with five strikeouts in 3 1/3 innings while Andy McGuire allowed two hits and hit a batter in 1 2/3 frames. Grayson Huffman got the win after pitching a 1-2-3 10th.

Bluefield Blue Jays, Elizabethton Twins (MIN)

GCL Blue Jays 7, GCL Phillies West 0

 

The GCL Blue Jays picked up a win, shutting out the GCL Phillies West 7-0.

Rafael Monsion tossed five scoreless frames, allowing just three hits and a walk with four strikeouts for the win while Blake Sanderson gave up just two hits and struck out five in three innings. Miguel Olivo pitched a 1-2-3 ninth to finish the game.

Newly signed non-drafted free agent Justin Ammons made his professional debut, going 3/3 with a double and a run while Jose Zepeda was 1/1 with three walks and an RBI. Jose Rivas and Jhon Solarte each had a hit and a run while Alberto Rodriguez was 1/5 with a double, a n RBI and a run. Hugo Cardona was 0/4 but drove in a run and scored, as was Rainer Nunez. Hanley Acevedo was 1/1 with a double.

DSL Blue Jays 4, DSL Padres 1

 

The DSL Blue Jays allowed only a run on four hits to secure a 4-1 win over the DSL Padres.

Yaifer Perdomo tossed five strong inning, giving up just a run on two hits and three walks with four strikeouts. Juan Martinez tossed three scoreless frames, allowing only a hit and a walk with three strikeouts to get the win and Junior Guzman gave up a hit and a walk with two strikeouts in the ninth to earn the save.

The Blue Jays had six hits with a hit and two RBI from Amell Brazoban, singles from Gary David and Gustavo Gutierrez (who also stole a base) while Leonel Callez was 1/4 and Daniel Oliva was 1/3 with an RBI, a walk and a run. Willfrann Astudillo also had a hit and a run.
