In seven games, the Blue Jays affiliates went 2-5 on Saturday.

 

Buffalo Bisons 3, Lehigh Valley IronPigs 5

 

Thomas Pannone started for the Buffalo Bisons but gave up three home runs on the way to a 5-3 loss to the Lehigh Valley IronPigs. Pannone allowed five runs (on three home runs), allowing 11 hits but didn’t walk anyone and struck out eight in 6 1/3 innings. Justin Shafer pitched 1 2/3 innings, walking one and striking out one.

Jonathan Davis went 3/5 with an RBI and Michael De La Cruz walked twice, scoring once and Gift Ngoepe was 1/3 with a walk and a run.

Roster Notes: Danny Jansen was placed on the temporarily inactive list to participate in the MLB Futures Game and Rowdy Tellez was activated from the temporarily inactive list. Ryan Borucki was optioned back to Buffalo and Chris Rowley was recalled.

New Hampshire Fisher Cats 5, Portland Sea Dogs 6

 

The New Hampshire Fisher Cats scored two runs in the top of the ninth but it wasn’t enough to complete a comeback and lost to the Portland Sea Dogs 6-5. Andrew Guillotte was 2/3 with a double, a walk and two RBI while Ryan Hissey was 1/3 with a walk and a run. Harold Ramirez was 1/3 with a walk, a double and an RBI, scoring a run and stealing a base.

T.J. Zeuch had a solid start, giving up two runs on seven hits and three walks with four strikeouts in five innings. Justin Dillon took the loss, giving up two runs on two hits and three walks in 2/3 of an inning and Nick Hartman gave up a hit and struck out one in 1 1/3 innings. Andrew Case finished the game, allowing two runs (one earned), giving up three hits and a walk with a strikeout in the eighth.

Roster Notes: Bo Bichette was placed on the temporarily inactive list to play in the Futures Game and Andrew Case was activated from the temporarily inactive list.

Dunedin Blue Jays 5, Tampa Tarpons 2

 

The Dunedin Blue Jays continue their roll, beating the Tampa Tarpons 5-2. Santiago Espinal went yard, hitting a solo home run and added two more RBI, going 2/5. Kevin Smith was 2/4 with a double and a run and Rodrigo Orozco was 2/4 with a double and two runs. Kacy Clemens was 1/4 with a double and an RBI.

Maverik Buffo had a solid outing, going five innings and giving up two runs on six hits with a walk, striking out three for his second win in Dunedin. Jonathan Cheshire went three innings, walking two and striking out two before Jake Fishman came on for his fourth save, striking out two of the three batters he faced.

Lansing Lugnuts 1, Clinton LumberKings 4

 

The Lansing Lugnuts couldn’t manage much offense, getting just two hits in a 4-1 loss to the Clinton LumberKings. Norberto Obeso had both hits including a solo home run, going 2/4.

Graham Spraker went six dominant innings, allowing just a hit and a walk, striking out five before handing it over to Brody Rodning who allowed four runs on five hits (including two home runs) with two strikeouts over two innings.

Vancouver Canadians 9, Boise Hawks 8

 

Jake Brodt and Nick Podkul went deep to help give the Vancouver Canadians a 9-8 win over the Boise Hawks. Griffin Conine had three hits, going 3/5 with a double and a run while Podkul was 2/3 with a home run and three RBI, walking twice and scoring once. Brodt was 1/5 with the home run and three RBI. Hunter Steinmetz was on base twice, going 1/2 with two walks and a double, scoring twice and stealing two bases. Bryan Lizardo was 2/5 and Yorman Rodriguez was 2/4 with an RBI and three runs.

Juan Nunez allowed a run on three hits and a walk, striking out two in 3 2/3 innings. Denis Diaz allowed four runs on seven hits and a walk with three strikeouts in two innings. Justin Watts allowed a run on two hits and three walks, striking out two in 1 1/3 innings. Cobi Johnson gave up two runs in two innings, allowing four hits and two walks with two strikeouts.

Bluefield Blue Jays 4, Danville Braves 17

 

The Bluefield Blue Jays got lit up, losing 17-4 to the Danville Braves. Alejandro Kirk provided most of the offense, going 1/5 with a three-run home run in the eighth inning. Cal STevenson was 2/5 wtih an RBI and a run and Rafael Lantigua was 2/4. D.J. Neal was on twice, going 1/4 with a walk.

Alvardo Galindo went just one-plus innings, allowing six runs on two hits and four walks before Adams Cuevas came on with the bases loaded in the second and allowed two of those runners to score. Cuevas provided four innings of one-hit, one-walk ball, striking out three. Mike Pascoe pitched to eight batters in the sixth and couldn’t get anyone out, giving up seven hits and hitting a batter. Josh Almonte allowed both of his inherited runners to score and gave up three runs of his own, finishing the sixth, allowing three hits and two walks with one strikeout. brad Wilson, Brenna Price and catcher Andres Guerra each threw a scoreless innings wtih Guerra and Price striking out two.

GCL Blue Jays 1, GCL Yankees East 2

 

The GCL Blue Jays had seven hits and only scored a run in a 2-1 loss to the GCL Yankees East. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. went 1/3 with a double and a run before coming out of the game after getting his at bats in. Gabriel Moreno was 2/4 with an RBI and Aldo Ovando was 2/4 with a triple.

Alejandro Melean went five innings, allowing a run on five hits and two walks with six strikeouts and Roberto Osuna got into a rehab game, allowing a hit and striking out one in one inning. Ryan Thurston gave up two hits with three strikeouts in two innings and Jackson Rees took the loss, giving up a run in the ninth on two hits with one strikeout, allowing the walk off in 2/3 of an inning.
