The Blue Jays’ affiliates were 2-4 in six games on Tuesday with the Dunedin Blue Jays splitting a double header.

 

 

Buffalo Bisons 5, Rochester Red Wings (MIN) 3

 

The Buffalo Bisons rode a strong start from Anthony Kay as they beat the Rochester Red Wings 5-3 on Tuesday.

Kay tossed 6 2/3 innings of scoreless baseball, allowing only five hits and two walks with five strikeouts to earn his third win. Zach Jackson pitched 1 1/3 innings without allowing a hit or a walk with one strikeout and Justin Shafer was tagged with three runs on two hits (including a home run) with one walk and two strikeouts in the ninth.

Socrates Brito hit a home run, going 1/3 with a walk and a solo blast while Santiago Espinal hit a three-run home run, going 1/4. Andy BUrns was 2/3 and was hit by a pitch while Beau Taylor was 1/3 with a walk and two runs.

Roster Notes: Nash Knight was sent back to the New Hampshire Fisher Cats and Matt Dermody was placed on the 7-day IL.

 



 

New Hampshire Fisher Cats 0, Trenton Thunder (NYY) 2

 

The New Hampshire Fisher Cats were blanked by the Trenton Thunder, losing 2-0.

Starter Hector Perez allowed two runs on two hits and three walks with seven strikeouts in four innings while Joey Pulido tossed two scoreless innings, allowing two hits and two walks while striking out four. Danny Young threw a scoreless seventh, allowing just a walk and Jake Fishman walked four over two innings, striking out two.

The Fisher Cats had just four hits with Joshua Palacios going 2/4 with a double and a stolen base while Kevin Smith was 1/3 and Logan Warmoth was 1/3.

Roster Notes: Jake Brodt was assigned back to the Lansing Lugnuts and Nash Knight was sent back to the New Hampshire Fisher Cats from Buffalo.

 

Dunedin Blue Jays 3, Fort Myers Miracle (MIN) 2

 

In the first game of a double header, the Dunedin Blue Jays triumphed over the Fort Myers Miracle, winning 3-2.

Maximo Castillo allowed just one unearned run on four hits with five strikeouts in 5 1/3 innings and Jackson Rees finished it off, allowing an unearned run on three hits with one strikeout in 1 2/3 innings.

The Blue Jays had six hits including a home run by Ryan Noda who was 1/3. Kacy Clemens (1/3, 2B, R), Kevin Vicuna (1/3, 2B, RBI), Demi Orimoloye (1/3, 2B, PO) and Reggie Pruitt (1/3, 2B, RBI) each had a double and Samad Taylor was 1/1 with a walk and a run.

Dunedin Blue Jays 2, Fort Myers Miracle (MIN) 5

 

The Dunedin Blue Jays dropped the second half of their double header with the Fort Myers Miracle 5-2.

Kevin Vicuna was 2/3 with a double and a run while Reggie Pruitt was 1/4 and Chavez Young was 1/3. Christopher Bec was 1/3 with an RBI while Demi Orimoloye was 0/2 but walked and stole a base.

Graham Spraker tossed four scoreless innings, allowing three hits and three walks and Maverik Buffo was tagged with the loss, allowing four runs (three earned) on three hits (including a home run) and two walks. Connor Law allowed a run on two hits in the seventh.

Lansing Lugnuts 9, Great Lakes Loons (LAD) 12

 

The Lansing Lugnuts lost another high scoring game to the Great Lakes Loons, falling 12-9.

Yorman Rodriguez had a pair of hits, going 2/6 with two runs and John Aiello had two hits, going 2/5 with two RBI but it was Griffin Conine who was on base five times, going 1/1 with a double, four walks, an RBI and three runs. Gabriel Moreno was 1/4 with a double, a walk, three RBI and a run and Hunter Steinmetz was 1/3 with two walks, a double and two RBI. Tanner Kirwer was 1/3 with a triple, two walks, a run and two stolen bases while Otto Lopez was 1/5 with a walk and a run. Ryan Gold was 1/5.

Cobi Johnson allowd seven runs (four earned) on seven hits (including two home runs) with two walks and three strikeouts over four innings. Will McAffer allowed another three runs on four hits (including a home run) with three strikeouts in two innings and Jose Espada gave up two runs (one earned) on four hits with two strikeouts in 1 2/3 innings. Juan Nunez struck out two in 1 1/3 innings.

Roster Notes: Juan Nunez was activated from the 7-day injured list and Randy Pondler was sent to the Vancouver Canadians.

 

Vancouver Canadians

Roster Notes: Randy Pondler was sent to the Vancouver Canadians from the Lansing Lugnuts and Dasan Brown was sent to Vancouver from Bluefield.

 

Bluefield Blue Jays 4, Burlington Royals (KC) 10

 

The Bluefield Blue Jays were hammered 10-4 by the Burlington Royals.

Sam Ryan allowed four runs on seven hits (including a home run) with a walk and five strikeouts in five innings and Aldo Ovando allowed an unearned run on a hit over two innings. Yunior Hinojosa also pitched two innings, giving up five runs (three earned) on three hits (including a home run) with two walks.

Davis Schneider was 2/3 with a double, a walk, an RBI and a run while Leonardo Jimenez was 2/3 with two runs. Miguel Hiraldo was 1/4 with a run but also made two errors at second base while Patrick MOrris was 1/4 with two RBI and D.J. Daniels was 1/4 with an error.
