With a double header played by the Lansing Lugnuts (winning one game and losing another), the Blue Jays’ affiliates went 3-2 on the day in their five games.
Buffalo Bisons 8, Pawtucket Red Sox 9
The Pawtucket Red Sox outlasted the Buffalo Bisons, scoring two in the top of the 10th innings while the Bisons scored just one to beat The Herd 9-8. Sam Gaviglio started for Buffalo, tossing six innings and giving up four runs on six hits (including two home runs) with five strikeouts. Matt Dermody got a blown save, giving up a run in the seventh off of a hit and and a walk and Carlos Ramirez was charged with two runs in the eighth, walking two and giving up a hit and striking out one. Sam Moll took the loss, giving up a home run among two hits and getting charged with two runs (one earned) in two innings.
Tim Lopes is a hitting machine, going 3/5 with a double, two RBI and two runs while stealing a base in the loss. Danny Espinosa was 2/5 and Reese McGuire was 2/5 with a run. Jason Leblebijian was 1/4 with a walk, an RBI and two runs while Dwight Smith, Jr. was 0/4 but drove in three runs, hitting two sacrifice flies. Dalton Pompey was 1/5 with a walk and an RBI.

New Hampshire Fisher Cats 4, Trenton Thunder 0
Sean Reid-Foley dominated for the New Hampshire Fisher Cats as the club cruised to a 4-0 shutout of the Trenton Thunder. Reid-Foley tossed five innings and giving up just two hits and three walks and struck out eight batters. Conor Fisk threw two perfect innings, striking out two while Craig Breslow (1 IP, 1 BB, 1 K) and Justin Shafer (1 IP, 1 H, 1 K) finished the game off.
Jonathan was 2/3 with a run and a stolen base while Vladimir Guerrero was 1/3 with a double, a walk, an RBI and a run (and he was caught stealing). Ryan Hissey was 1/3 with a double and a run and Andrew Guillotte was 1/2 with a walk and an RBI.

Dunedin Blue Jays 8, Clearwater Threshers 6
In another high-scoring game, the Dunedin Blue Jays came out on top by an 8-6 score. T.J. Zeuch only allowed two of the runs despite giving up nine hits over six innings without walking or striking out anyone. Conner Eller allowed a run on four hits with two strikeouts in two innings and Travis Bergen was charged with three runs on four hits and a walk, leaving two runners on with two outs for William Ouellette who nailed down the save by retiring the only batter he faced.
The Blue Jays had just seven hits, getting two from Eduard Pinto who was 2/4 wtih a double, three RBI, two runs and a stolen base. Ivan Castillo was 2/3 with a walk and a run and Logan Warmoth drove in two runs, going 1/4 with a triple and a walk. Riley Adams hit a double, drove in a run, took a walk and scored.

Lansing Lugnuts 11, West Michigan Whitecaps 7
The Lugnuts exploded for three home runs in an 11-7 win over the West Michigan Whitecaps in Game 1 of their double header (and the first of five games in three days). Brock Lundquist hit a three-run home run in the first, Kacy Clemens hit a two-run shot in the second and Kevin Smith hit a solo blast (slightly wind-aided) in the third. Clemens was 2/2 with a double and a home run, driving in three, taking two walks and scoring three times. Smith drove in a pair, going 1/2 with a walk and Lundquist drove in three, going 1/3 with a walk. Christian Williams was 2/4 with an RBI and a run.
Starter Maverik Buffo tossed five innings, giving up four runs on three hits and a walk with four strikeouts, throwing a wild pitch and hitting a batter. Dalton Rodriguez got into trouble in 1 1/3 innings, giving up three runs on five hits and two walks with one strikeout before Brody Rodning was summoned from the bullpen to get the final two outs for the save.

Lansing Lugnuts 4, West Michigan Whitecaps 7
In Game 2 of the their double header with the West Michigan Whitecaps, the Lansing Lugnuts couldn’t find the magic they had in the first game and wound up losing 7-4. Donnie Sellers started the game and couldn’t quite miss enough barrels, giving up seven runs on eight hits and three walks in 2 2/3 innings and it could have been more had it not have been for a sensational catch by Chavez Young in center field that robbing the Whitecaps of extra bases. Orlando Pascual made it through two innings, walking three and striking out one, needing 45 pitches while Dany Jimenez finished the final 1 1/3 innings, walking one, striking out one and giving up a hit.
Ryan Noda had a pair of doubles for the Lugnuts, driving in a run (with the club’s only RBI) while Cullen Large hit a double and scored twice. Chavez Young (1/3, BB, CS) and Kevin Smith (1/3, SB) had the club’s only other hits.
