While many of you have been hibernating or have been put into hibernation by the lack of action by the Blue Jays over the offseason, here at Blue Jays from Away, we’ve been busy all winter preparing our first publication, the 2014 Toronto Blue Jays Minor League Handbook.

Available on March 31, 2014 as an e-book on all major platforms (including Smashwords.com, Amazon, Apple iBooks and Kobo), the 2014 Handbook is a resource that enables fans to follow the Toronto Blue Jays’ minor league system like never before. Available for only $7.99, the book features unprecedented coverage of the Jays’ farm system for any fan.

Features include:

  • Histories and profiles of all seven North American Blue Jays affiliates including the Buffalo Bisons, New Hampshire Fisher Cats, Dunedin Blue Jays, Lansing Lugnuts, Vancouver Canadians, Bluefield Blue Jays and Gulf Coast League Blue Jays
  • Player profiles of every player anticipated to play in the Blue Jays’ minor league system  in 2014
  • A new essay by current Blue Jays minor league pitcher, John Anderson, a member of the 2013 Dunedin Blue Jays
  • Ticket, travel and city information to help you plan any trips to see the Baby Jays play
  • Broadcast information to help you follow along with the teams and players from wherever you are
  • Minor league depth charts
  • A 2013 draft review

We are very proud of the huge amount of work that has gone into our 2014 Handbook which is the first of its kind for the Toronto Blue Jays.

We are also planning an “All-Star Break” supplement coming in July for only $1.99 that will highlight:

  • Up-to-date minor league rosters
  • 2014 draft summary
  • Promotions and demotions
  • July 2 International Free Agents

About the authors:

Jay Blue is the founder of Blue Jays from Away. In addition to writing and podcasting here, he is a staff writer at Jays Journal and co-editor of Grading on the Curve, the FanSided Network’s minor league blog. Honing his writing skills since grad school, Jay has written about the Blue Jays since 2012 and has seen much of the Blue Jays’ minor league system in person and has been a member of the credentialed media at five different minor league parks and attended games at six of the seven home ballparks in the Toronto Blue Jays minor league system. His work can also be found on the Canadian Baseball Network.

Charlie Caskey covers the Vancouver Canadians for the Vancouver Sun (online) as well as his own blog, Your Van Cs. He is also a staff writer for Jays Journal. Caskey offers unprecedented coverage of the only minor league team in Canada, attending many of the club’s home games in 2013 and gaining unparalleled insider knowledge about the club, coaches and players.

Jared Macdonald has an extensive resume as an outstanding writer and talent analyst from his years as editor of Jays Journal and writing for JaysProspects.com. Jared has visited all of the Blue Jays’ minor league teams and has probably the deepest knowledge of the Jays’ minor league system of anyone who isn’t employed by the club.
