The Blue Jays’ affiliates went 1-2 in three games as the New Hampshire Fisher Cats were rained out.

 

Buffalo Bisons 6, Syracuse Chiefs 1

 

The Buffalo Bisons got a great pitching performance from Ryan Borucki in their 6-1 defeat of the Syracuse Chiefs on Sunday afternoon. Borucki held the Chiefs off the board with seven scoreless innings, giving up only two hits and two walks with five strikeouts. Sam Moll walked two and gave up two hits, getting just one out and leaving the bases loaded for Carlos Ramirez who struck out four in the final inning and two-thirds, finishing the game off with the save.

Darnell Sweeney paced the offense with two hits (a single and a double), adding a walk, three RBI and a run. Dwight Smith Jr. walked twice, going 1/2 with an RBI and was caught stealing. Devon Travis was 1/4 and Roemon Fields was 1/3 with two RBI, a run and a stolen base. Rowdy Tellez was 1/3 with a walk and a run and Danny Jansen was 1/3 with a walk, two runs and a stolen base. Tim Lopes‘s average dropped to .403 with a single and a walk (but he was caught stealing twice).

Roster Notes: Richard Urena was optioned to Buffalo while Justin Dillon and Connor Eller were both sent back to Dunedin.

New Hampshire Fisher Cats, Binghamton Rumble Ponies

 

Game postponed due to rain.

 

Dunedin Blue Jays 4, Clearwater Threshers 5

 

Logan Warmoth

The Dunedin Blue Jays got 10 hits and four runs but it wasn’t enough in a 5-4 loss to the Clearwater Threshers. Logan Warmoth had one of his best games of the year, going 3/5 with a double, an RBI and a run while John La Prise (2/4, R), Ivan Castillo (2/3, RBI, SF) and D.J. Davis (2/4, R) had two hits each. Rodrigo Orozco was on base twice, going 1/3 iwth a walk, an RBI and was picked off and caught stealing).

Patrick Murphy pitched six innings, giving up five runs (four earned) on 10 hits with four strikeouts, taking his second loss of the year. Jake Fishman allowed just one hit and struck out one in two innings of relief.

Roster Notes: Justin Dillon and Connor Eller both returned to the Dunedin Blue Jays from Buffalo.

Lansing Lugnuts 0, Quad City River Bandits 2

 

Chavez Young

The Lansing Lugnuts’ offense was handled easily by the Quad City River Bandits, who beat them 2-0 and limited them to just four hits. Chavez Young had three of those hits, going 3/4 and getting picked off and caught stealing.

Graham Spraker allowed both runs on five hits and a walk over five innings, striking out four and Turner Larkins finished the game, going four innings without adding any more runs to the ledger, giving up three hits and striking out three.
