The Buffalo Bisons continue to have their season on ice as weather in the Great Lakes region is pretty awful. The other three Blue Jays’ minor league affiliates won in a 3-0 day.

 

Buffalo Bisons, Louisville Bats

 

Game postponed due to disgusting freezing rain-type weather and lousy field conditions.

Roster Notes: Joe Biagini was optioned back to Buffalo after starting Game 2 of the Blue Jays’ double header on Tuesday.

 

 

New Hampshire Fisher Cats 5, Binghamton Rumble Ponies 4

The New Hampshire Fisher Cats ran their record to 8-3 after holding off the Binghamton Rumble Ponies in a 5-4 win. Francisco Rios started and threw five scoreless innings, but was charged with a run after giving up a single to the leadoff hitter in the sixth inning who came around to score. Rios ended up throwing five plus innings with one run against him on five hits while striking out three. Dusty Isaacs came in with a runner on first, allowing him to score as well as another runner, walking one and giving up a pair of hits in the sixth inning. Danny Young walked two but struck out two in 1 2/3 innings and Andrew Case gave up two runs in an inning before Craig Breslow gave up a hit before striking out the final batter of the game to earn a save.

Three Fisher Cats contributed two hits each with Vladimir Guerrero Jr. going 2/2 with a double, a sacrifice fly, a hit-by-pitch, an RBI and a run. Jonathan Davis was 2/5 with a run and a stolen base while Patrick Cantwell was 2/4. Bo Bichette was 0/5 but all of the other hitters each had at least a hit with Andrew Guillotte and Juan Kelly each going 1/3 with a walk.

Dunedin Blue Jays 8, Fort Myers Miracle 4

 

Dalton Pompey

The Dunedin Blue Jays brought their bats, overcoming three errors in the field and, at one time, a 4-1 deficit to defeat the Fort Myers Miracle 8-4 on Wednesday. Dalton Pompey continues his strong comeback, going 3/4 with two doubles, a walk, two RBI and a run. Anthony Alford wasn’t as good, going 0/4 with four strikeouts, a pick off and caught stealing. Bradley Jones was 2/5 with a double, an RBI and a run while Riley Adams was 2/5 with two runs. Nash Knight continues his torrid hitting, going 2/4 with an RBI and a run. Yeltsin Gudino was 0/1 but walked, scored and hit two sacrifice flies. Logan Warmoth was 1/4 with a walk, an RBI and a run at the plate, but he made three errors in the field.

Starter Patrick Murphy went six innings, giving up four runs (two earned) on eight hits and two walks with six strikeouts. Nick Hartman earned the win, giving up two hits and a walk with two strikeouts in one inning while Connor Eller pitched a scoreless eighth, striking out one. Kirby Snead struck out the side in the ninth but gave up a hit and a walk.

Lansing Lugnuts 7, Lake County Captains 2

 

The Lansing Lugnuts got some very solid pitching and plenty of offense winning their seventh game of the season by a 7-2 score over the Lake County Captains. Donnie Sellers won his second game, giving up two runs on two hits and three walks with one strikeout in five innings. Maximo Castillo went four innings for his first save, giving up just three hits and a walk with three strikeouts.

Kacy Clemens continues to impress, taking two more walks and pushing his OBP to .556 as he went 2/2 with a triple, three RBI, a run and a stolen base. Brock Lundquist drove in two runs with a double, going 1/4 while Ryan Noda was 1/3 with a walk, an RBI, two runs and a stolen base. Samad Taylor was 0/4 but scored twice, walking once and getting on via a wild pitch on a strikeout. He stole two bases. Reggie Pruitt was 1/3 and was hit by a pitch and stole a base. Kevin Vicuna was 1/4 with a double, an RBI and a run.
