It was the Dunedin Blue Jays who had their game canceled because of weather but the other three Blue Jays affiliates had their first losing day, going 1-2 with the Bisons and Fisher Cats handed their first losses of the season.

Buffalo Bisons 1, Pawtucket Red Sox 3

Despite a strong start from Ryan Borucki, the Buffalo offense was handcuffed on the way to a 3-1 loss to the Pawtucket Red Sox on Tuesday night. The Herd had just four hits including a pair from Tim Lopes who also walked and drove in the club’s only run. Teoscar Hernandez hit a double and Danny Jansen was 1/3.

Borucki went five innings, giving up two runs on six hits with two walks and three strikeouts. Taylor Guerrieri went another two frames, allowing a run on three hits with two strikeouts before Chad Girodo finished things off, pitching a perfect ninth with a strikeout.

L: Ryan Borucki (0-1)

Roster Notes: Tim Mayza was called up to the Blue Jays and Murphy Smith was assigned to Buffalo to take his place.

The Lansing Lugnuts fought back again and again and finally saw their efforts pay off with a win as they defeated the Fort Wayne TinCaps 6-5 to keep the TinCaps from their first victory of the year. Starter Maximo Castillo ran into trouble early, giving up four runs on five hits and three walks in four innings, striking out four. Dalton Rodriguez made his season debut, throwing two innings and giving up a run on four hits and a walk with a strikeout while Brayden Bouchey was right behind him in his season debut, striking out four in two perfect innings. Ty Tice walked a batter and had a hard shot hit off him (but was caught in a spectacular play by Chavez Young) and struck out two batters in the ninth to pick up his second save.

Kevin Smith, once again, drove the offense, going 3/5 with two doubles and two RBI (leading the league in RBI with 10 through six games). Smith also stole a base and scored a run but also committed an error. Brock Lundquist was 2/4 with a double and a run. Christian Williams provided some fireworks, going 1/3 with a walk and his first home run of the season.
