September 12, 2017 Vancouver Canadians Report

 

Call them the Champs! The Vancouver Canadians are the winners of their fourth Northwest League Championship in seven years and their first since 2013.

The Vancouver Canadians (3-1) won another game by a 2-1 score and this time it was the one that put them over the top, beating the Eugene Emeralds for the Northwest League championship.

 

 

Reggie Pruitt

It was the Blue Jays’ 2017 first-round draft pick, Logan Warmoth who provided the Canadians with their two runs, driving in a pair in the fifth inning with a single. Reggie Pruitt had another single (the Cs’ only other hit) and a walk to get on base twice and he scored a run while Deiferson Barreto walked and scored the club’s other run.

Justin Dillon struck out seven in his three innings, giving up a hit and walking two. Zach Logue was credited for the win, giving up the Emeralds’ only run on a solo home run in the fourth among three hits and a walk with four strikeouts. Brayden Bouchey struck out three in two innings and Orlando Pascual (2/3 IP, K) and William Ouellette (S, 1/3 IP, K) finished the ninth to seal the win.
