The Buffalo Bisons, amid some roster chaos, got some help from two pitchers making their Triple-A debut to make them one of two Blue Jays affiliates registering a win on Thursday night.
Buffalo Bisons 3, Syracuse Chiefs 0
The Buffalo Bisons got a strong pitching performance from their three pitchers who combined to shut out the Syracuse Chiefs in a 3-0 win. Taylor Guerrieri gave up just a hit with a strikeout in a three-inning performance and Conor Fisk got his first Triple-A win, tossing 3 1/3 scoreless frames, allowing three hits and a walk in his debut with Buffalo, striking out two. Justin Dillon, called up from Dunedin struck out five in 2 2/3 innings, earning the save.
The Bisons had eight hits with Darnell Sweeney connecting on the biggest one, a home run for his third of the year. Danny Jansen was 1/3 with a sacrifice fly and two RBI while Tim Lopes continued to keep his batting average over .400 (.433 actually) with a 2/4 game, scoring once and stealing a base. With both Dalton Pompey and Anthony Alford in the lineup, Pompey was more successful, going 1/4 with a double while Alford was 0/4 with three strikeouts.

Roster Notes: With Toronto’s double header on Thursday, there was a flurry of activity. Joe Biagini, Dwight Smith Jr., Luis Santos and Tim Mayza were called up to Toronto while Danny Barnes was sent down and Gift Ngoepe was designated for assignment (to make room on the 40-man roster for Santos) after being optioned to Buffalo. Justin Dillon was promoted to Buffalo from Dunedin and Conor Fisk was promoted to Buffalo from New Hampshire (although it’s not listed on the MiLB.com website).

New Hampshire Fisher Cats 6, Binghamton Rumble Ponies 10
The New Hampshire Fisher Cats were victimized by a Tim Tebow home run on the way to a 10-6 loss to the Binghamton Rumble Ponies. Jon Harris took the brunt of the attack, giving up seven runs (six earned) on seven hits and two walks with three strikeouts in 4 2/3 innings. Danny Young gave up the other three runs over 1 1/3 innings, allowing three hits and striking out one while Zach Jackson finished the sixth, walking three and allowing both of his inherited runners from Young to score despite striking out two. Kirby Snead, in his Fisher Cats debut, finished with a walk and two strikeouts in 1 1/3 innings.
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. was the big story yet again for the Fisher Cats, hitting a massive solo home run in the fifth and going 2/5 to bring his season average up to .388 but he also committed two errors in the field. Harold Ramirez was 2/4 with a double and a run and Gunnar Heidt was 2/4 with an RBI, a run and a stolen base. Andrew Guillotte was 1/3 with an RBI before he was ejected in the fifth and Bo Bichette came in to replace him, going 1/1 with a run and a walk and he was caught stealing. Juan Kelly was on base three times but one of those times he wasn’t on long as he went 1/3 with two walks and his second home run in as many games, driving in two runs.

Roster Notes: Kirby Snead was promoted to the Fisher Cats from Dunedin while Craig Breslow was placed on the 7-day DL. Conor Fisk was promoted to Buffalo from New Hampshire.

Dunedin Blue Jays 0, Bradenton Marauders 2
T.J. Zeuch had a solid outing on the mound for the Dunedin Blue Jays but the club wasn’t able to get anything going on offense leading to a 2-0 loss to the Bradenton Marauders. Zeuch threw six innings and gave up two runs (one earned) on seven hits (including a two-run home run) and one walk with five strikeouts. Jonathan Cheshire (1 K) and Jake Fishman (1 H, 2 K) each tossed a scoreless innings to get to the end of the game.
The Blue Jays had just four hits as a team, with Ivan Castillo responsible for two of them (both singles) Alberto Mineo was 1/3 with a double and John La Prise had a single in three at bats.

Roster Notes: Kirby Snead was promoted to the New Hampshire Fisher Cats and Justin Dillon was promoted to Buffalo. The D-Jays picked up Andy Ravel from Lansing and it’s likely that the other roster spot will go to Nate Pearson who is on track to pitch soon.

Lansing Lugnuts 6, Kane County Cougars 5
The Lansing Lugnuts got contributions up and down the lineup in a 6-5 win over the Kane County Cougars. Kevin Vicuna had another two hits, going 2/5 with two RBI, a run and a stolen base and Samad Taylor was 2/4 with a double, an RBI, a run and two stolen bases. Norberto Obeso was on base three times, going 1/2 with two walks and two stolen bases and Chavez Young was 1/4 with a double, an RBI and a sacrifice fly. Kevin Smith (1/3) had a double and a walk and Kacy Clemens (1/4) had a double and an RBI.
Donnie Sellers started and was charged with all five runs, giving up seven hits (including two home runs) and two walks with three strikeouts over five innings. Maverik Buffalo claimed the win, throwing four scoreless innings, giving up just a hit and a walk with one strikeout.

Roster Notes: Andy Ravel was promoted to Dunedin and Brandon Grudzielanek was assigned to Lansing from extended spring training.
