With the Dunedin Blue Jays off on Monday, the remaining three teams played to a 2-1 record.

 

Buffalo Bisons 4, Rochester Red Wings 2

 

 

Ryan Borucki and Thomas Pannone

Ryan Borucki turned in one of his stronger starter of the season, tossing six innings of two run ball, giving up six hits and a walk with five strikeouts. Borucki also got six groundouts and just three fly outs, throwing 93 pitches and 64 strikes. Al Alburquerque allowed a walk and a hit in his inning of relief, striking out one and Justin Shafer got his fourth save with the Bisons, tossing two innings and walking one.

Dalton Pompey continued to swing a hot bat after returning to Buffalo from Toronto. He was 2/4 with a double and two runs while Danny Jansen is also hot, going 2/3 with a walk and two RBI. Reese McGuire was 0/1 but walked, hit a sacrifice fly, scored a run and was hit by a pitch.

New Hampshire Fisher Cats 5, Hartford Yard Goats 2

 

T.J. Zeuch went 6 2/3 innings as the New Hampshire Fisher Cats capitalized on 10 hits to beat the Hartford Yard Goats 5-2. Zeuch allowed two runs on six hits and two walks, striking out two and getting 11 ground outs with just four fly outs, throwing 92 pitches (61 strikes) to earn his second win with the Fisher Cats. The ever-reliable Danny Young provided 1 1/3 innings of scoreless relief, giving up a hit and striking out one while Andrew Case closed it out, earning his fourth save with a scoreless ninth, allowing a hit and striking out two.

While Randal Grichuk was 0/4 with two strikeouts playing right field, Bo Bichette was 2/5 in the leadoff spot, stealing a base. Vladimir Guerrero had another two hits, going 2/4 with a double and an RBI while also scoring a run and stealing a base, pushing his batting average to .433. Jonathan Davis, hitting in the five hole, was 2/4 with an RBI and a run while Juan Kelly hit his third home run in his last four games, going 2/4 with a double and three RBI. Max Pentecost and Cavan Biggio were each 1/3 with a walk.

Roster Notes: Jordan Romano was sent back to New Hampshire from Buffalo and Patrick Murphy went back to Dunedin from New Hampshire.

Roster Notes: Patrick Murphy went back to Dunedin after his start in New Hampshire and Kevin Smith was promoted from Lansing to Dunedin.

 

Lansing Lugnuts 0, Fort Wayne TinCaps 3

 

Chavez Young

The Lansing Lugnuts were shut out for just the third time this season, losing 3-0 to the Fort Wayne TinCaps. The Lugs had just four hits including two from Chavez Young who was picked off of first base. Cullen Large, making his return from the DL was 1/3 with a double and Brock Lundquist was 1/1 with a walk and was hit by a pitch.

Matthew Gunter made the start for Lansing, giving up just two runs (one earned) on three hits and two walks with two strikeouts. Andrew Deramo gave up a run on three hits and a walk in three innings with three strikeouts before Kyle Weatherly allowed only a hit and struck out one in the ninth.
