This will be another brief one as there’s lots of other content coming today from Blue Jays from Away! For more on the games, check out Jays Journal’s recap.

Buffalo Bisons: Postponed due to rain

New Hampshire Fisher Cats: Off Day

Dunedin Blue Jays 4, Palm Beach Cardinals 1

The D-Jays got a great outing from Jesse Hernandez (5 IP, 6 H, 1 R, 2 BB, 1 K), some solid relief from Efrain Nieves (two perfect innings) and enough timely offense to take this rain shortened game against Palm Beach. With only six hits, the D-Jays scored four runs, capitalizing very well and getting some excellent situational hitting. Dwight Smith, Jr. had the only extra-base hit (a double) while the runs were driven in by K.C. Hobson (1/2, sac fly), Emilio Guerrero (1/3), Derrick Chung (1/3) and Gustavo Pierre (1/3).

Lansing Lugnuts 4, Dayton Dragons 5

The Lugnuts hosted the Dayton Dragons and were being handled very effectively by Dayton starter Amir Garrett through the first five innings but they managed to rally in the sixth to tie the game at two and then again at three after the eighth. D.J. Davis had a very good game with a single, a double and a walk, pushing his batting average back up to .248. Dickie Joe Thon also had a single and a double while Santiago Nessy had three singles but didn’t score or drive in a run. L.B. Dantzler had three RBI for the game off of a triple and a sac fly. Unfortunately, the tenth inning didn’t go the Lugnuts’ way as they fell 5-4 with Griffin Murphy taking the loss. Chase De Jong started and went 4 2/3 innings allowing two runs off of a home run in the first and keeping the Dragons off the board for the rest of the way.
