On Day 2 of the MLB draft, the Blue Jays’ affiliates posted a combined record of 3-2.
Buffalo Bisons 7, Toledo Mud Hens 8
Six runs in the top of the second inning weren’t enough as the Buffalo Bisons dropped their series opener against the Toledo Mud Hens by an 8-7 score as the Mud Hens walked it off in the 10th. While they didn’t hit a home run, Dwight Smith Jr. (2/4, 2B, BB, 3 RBI, R) and Jason Leblebijian (2/5, RBI) had two hits each. Danny Jansen hit a double, going 1/5 with an RBI and a run while Rowdy Tellez was 1/2 with a walk, a double, two runs and was hit by a pitch twice before being pinch run for by Ian Parmley. Roemon Fields hit a double, going 1/5 with an RBI and a run.
Taylor Guerrieri tossed 3 2/3 innings, giving up six runs (four earned) on seven hits and a walk with one strikeout. Luis Santos gave up a run on two hits and a walk with one strikeout in 2 1/3 innings before Conor Fisk did yeoman’s work, allowing only one hit in three innings of relief, striking out four. Al Alburquerque gave up the final run (unearned) on a hit with a strikeout.

New Hampshire Fisher Cats 3, Akron RubberDucks 13
The New Hampshire Fisher Cats struck first, scoring a run in the first but the Akron RubberDucks took command and wound up with a convincing, 13-3 win over the Fisher Cats. Harold Ramirez was 3/4 with a double and an RBI while Bo Bichette was 2/3 with a walk and Jonathan Davis was 2/5 with two runs. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. was held off the board, driving in a run but going 0/4.
Justin Dillon struggled for the first time in quite a while, allowing seven runs (six earned) on six hits (including a home run) and three walks with three strikeouts over four innings. Kirby Snead allowed a run on three hits and a walk with three strikeouts in 2 1/3 innings while Nick Hartman, just returned to New Hampshire from Dunedin, coughed up five runs on seven hits and two walks in 1 1/3 innings before Jose Fernandez stranded the bases loaded and gave up just a hit with one strikeout in 1 1/3 innings.

Roster Notes: Josh DeGraaf was suspended for an unknown number of days after getting ejected (along with manager John Schneider) in his last outing on June 3.

Dunedin Blue Jays 9, Charlotte Stone Crabs 5
The Dunedin Blue Jays are enjoying their road show, winning their second game at the Charlotte Stone Crabs by a 9-5 score. Catcher Riley Adams went deep, hitting a grand slam in the fourth inning, going 1/4. Joshua Palacios, on the day his brother was drafted by Cleveland, went 3/5 with a tirple, two RBI and a run. Kacy Clemens continues to bring his batting average up, going 2/5 with a double and a run while Ivan Castillo (2/4, 2B, R), D.J. Davis (2/4, 2B, 2 R) and Rodrigo Orozco (2/3, 2B, 3B, 2 RBI, R) each had two hits. Bradley Jones was on base twice, going 1/4 with a walk and a run.
Taylor Saucedo picked up his fourth win, going 6 2/3 innings and giving up three runs (two earned) on six hits and a walk with one strikeout. Jonathan Cheshire allowed another run on two hits in 1 1/3 innings, also letting an inherited runner from Saucedo to score. Ty Tice pitched the ninth, allowing a run on a hit and a walk with two strikeouts.

Lansing Lugnuts 6, Bowling Green Hot Rods 4
The Lansing Lugnuts opened their road trip in Bowling Green, Kentucky by defeating the Hot Rods by a 6-4 score. Cullen Large went 1/3 with a home run (his third in as many games) but came out of the game in the bottom of the fifth inning after fielding a bunt. Chavez Young was 2/3 with a double, a triple, a walk, a sac fly, two RBI, a run and a stolen base while also throwing out a runner at second base and Reggie Pruitt was 2/4 with a run and two stolen bases. Brock Lundquist and Samad Taylor each hit a double and took a walk.
Donnie Sellers was stellar, allowing just two hits and two walks with two strikeouts through five innings. Maximo Castillo blew the save but got the win, allowing four runs (three earned) on six hits and two walks with three strikeouts in three innings. Dany Jimenez continues to be a lock down closer, saving his third game and giving up just a hit over his inning of work.

DSL Blue Jays 6, DSL D-backs1 4
The DSL Blue Jays are riding a winning streak, beating the DSL D-backs1 squad by a 6-4 score, needing 10 innings to do it. Trailing 1-0 until the bottom of the sixth, the Blue Jays scored a single run in each of the sixth and seventh to go up 2-1 before the D-backs1 tied it in the eight and the Jays rallied for another to go ahead by one heading to the ninth. The D-backs1 tied it up again in the ninth before scoring the go-ahead run in the top of the 10th but a two-run home run by Alberto Rodriguez allowed the Jays to walk it off. For Rodriguez, it was his second home run in as many games and he drove in two, going 1/5. Miguel Hiraldo, the highly rated signing last July , went 3/5 with an RBI and a run while Jhon Solarte was 3/4 with a walk, a triple and two runs, stealing his first base of the season. Pedro Hurtado had a double.
Adrian Hernandez started, striking out five in three innings and giving up a run on two hits and two walks. Williams Moreno walked two in two innings, striking out one and Ronald Govea struck out two in a perfect sixth. Jhoan Dominguez allowed two runs (one earned) on three hits and two walks in 2 2/3 innings before Jeison Contreras allowed an unearned run without allowing a hit or a walk and striking out one in 1 1/3 innings to take the win.
