The Blue Jays’ minor leaguers had strong pitching in the top two levels with the Buffalo Bisons and New Hampshire Fisher Cats registering shutouts. It was moving day in the lower levels with plenty of roster movement between Lansing and Dunedin.
Buffalo Bisons 4, Charlotte Knights 0
The force was with the Buffalo Bisons (30-23) continued their dominance of the Charlotte Knights thanks to a strong performance from T.J. House in a 4-0 win on Star Wars Night. Despite James Shields rehabbing with the Knights, the Bisons got to him enough to bring home the win. House was excellent, going six innings and giving up five hits and two walks, striking out five. Wil Browning threw a shutout seventh and Murphy Smith tossed two scoreless innings to seal the shutout.
Player of the Game: T.J. House
Roster Notes: Jose Mayorga was placed on the 7-day DL.
New Hampshire Fisher Cats 11, Hartford Yard Goats 0
With Sean-Reid Foley pitching in front of his family, the New Hampshire Fisher Cats (22-32) provided plenty of punch in an 11-0 win over the Hartford Yard Goats. Reid-Foley shone for the Fisher Cats, tossing six scoreless innings, allowing just five hits and no walks and striking out eight. Alonzo Gonzalez, Jose Fernandez and John Stilson each threw a scoreless inning of relief in the victory.
Danny Jansen continued his hot hitting, going 3/5 with two doubles and two runs while Tim Lopes was 3/5 with a double and an RBI, scoring a run and Gunnar Heidt was 3/3 with a solo home run and three runs. Jonathan Davis was 2/5 with a double, a walk, an RBI and a run while Ryan McBroom was 2/4 with a walk and an RBI, Andrew Guillotte was 2/5 with an RBI and a run and Derrick Loveless was 2/4 with a walk, an RBI and two runs.

Dunedin Blue Jays 2, Daytona Tortugas 4
The Dunedin Blue Jays’ (29-27) must have been happy to see the Jupiter Hammerheads out of town but in their road-trip opening game against the Daytona Tortugas, the D-Jays extended their losing streak to five games with a 4-2 loss. The Blue Jays had a lot of roster movement as Bradley Jones made his Dunedin debut, going 1/4 with three strikeouts. Ryan Hissey was 1/3 with a double and a walk and Deiferson Barreto was 1/3 with an RBI.
Ryan Borucki started the game and was strong, tossing five strong innings, giving up two runs (one earned) on six hits and one walk with five strikeouts. Zach Jackson also made his Dunedin debut, going 2/3 of an inning an walking three. Kender Vileegas bailed him out, going 1 1/3 innings and Adonys Cardona was charged with two runs on a hit and three walks before Philip Walby finished the game with 2/3 of an inning in the ninth.

Roster Notes: Conner Eller was demoted to Lansing while Jackson McClelland was promoted to Dunedin. Kevin Vicuna was sent back to extended spring training while Nash Knight was sent back to Lansing. J.C. Cardenas joined the Blue Jays from New Hampshire while Bradley Jones and Zach Jackson were promoted from Lansing to Dunedin.
Lansing Lugnuts 3, West Michigan Whitecaps 7
Osman Gutierrez made his return from the DL to get hammered in a Lansing Lugnuts 7-3 loss to the West Michigan Whitecaps. Gutierrez lasted just 1 2/3 innings, giving up five hits and two walks to total six runs to take the loss. Andrew Deramo went 2 1/3 innings, stranding the runner he inherited from Gutierrez but giving up a run of his own, striking out two and surrendering five hits. Kirby Snead was lights out, allowing just one hit in three innings with three strikeouts and Daniel Lietz finished the game, tossing a scoreless eighth.
Despite 12 hits, the offense could only score 12 runs. Bo Bichette was 4/5, missing the cycle by a home run and driving in one, scoring twice and stealing a base. Edward Olivares was 3/4 with a walk, an RBI and a stolen base while Vladimir Guerrero, Jr. was 2/5 with an RBI and a stolen base. Ridge Smith was 1/3 with a walk.
Player of the Game: Bo Bichette
Roster Notes: Nash Knight and Connor Eller joined the Lugnuts from Dunedin while Bradley Jones, Jackson McClelland and Zach Jackson went back the other way. Rodrigo Orozco joined the Lugnuts from extended spring training and Jake Thomas moved up to New Hampshire. Osman Gutierez was activated off the DL.
