The Toronto Blue Jays’ affiliates went 2-0 on a light day of action on Monday.

 

 

Buffalo Bisons

 

Scheduled off day.

Roster Notes: Justin Shafer was optioned to Buffalo from Toronto.

Dunedin Blue Jays, Tampa Tarpons (NYY)

 

Game suspended in 5th inning with Tampa leading 4-1.

Roster Notes: Javier Hernandez was sent to Dunedin from Lansing and Justin Dillon was sent to Dunedin from extended spring training.

 

Lansing Lugnuts

 

Off for All-Star Break.

Roster Notes: Luis De Los Santos was sent to Vancouver from Lansing and Javier Hernandez was sent to Dunedin from Lansing.

 

Vancouver Canadians 4, Eugene Emeralds (CHC) 3

 

The Vancouver Canadians rebounded to even their record at 2-2 with a 4-3 win over the Eugene Emeralds.

Gabriel Ponce, the Jays’ 28th-round pick in the 2019 draft started for Vancouver, going 2 1/3 innings and giving up a run on two hits with two strikeouts. Randy Pondler followed, allowing two runs on two hits (including a home run) and three walks with one strikeout over 2 2/3 innings. Andy McGuire, about whom we wonder if he’ll continue to play on both sides of the ball, pitched two innings, allowing a hit and two walks but no runs and he struck out one. Josh Almonte struck out one in a perfect inning and Luke Gillingham finished it off, allowing a hit in the ninth to earn the save.

Mc Gregory Contreras was 2/3 with a double, an RBI and a run, while Tanner Morris, Trevor Schwecke, Ronny Brito and Will Robertson each had a single.

DSL Blue Jays 5, DSL Padres 1

 

The DSL Blue Jays had a strong day overall, beating the DSL Padres 5-1.

Javier D’Orazio had a 3/5 day with a triple while Francisco Fajardo was 3/4 with two stolen bases and a run. Leonel Callez was 2/4 with an RBI and a run while Gabriel Martinez was 1/5 with an RBI, a run and a stolen base while also notching an outfield assist. Emmanuel Sanchez was 1/3 with a double, a walk, an RBI and a run and Adrian Montero was 1/3 with a double, an RBI, a run and a stolen base.

The pitching also had a strong game, getting five excellent innings from Yaifer Perdomo, who allowed a run on six hits with two walks and four strikeouts. Andres Garcia tossed two frames, allowing a hit and a walk with two strikeouts and Fernando Chacon went two innings, giving up a hit and two walks with two strikeouts.
