There were only two games in Blue Jays Land on Monday and both the Lugnuts and the DSL Blue Jays lost.

Lansing Lugnuts 4, Lake County Captains (CLE) 10

 

The Lansing Lugnuts scored twice as many runs on Monday as they did on Sunday but so did the Lake County Captains who beat the Lugnuts 10-4 on Monday.

The Lugnuts got a pair of hits from four players with Hagen Danner, who was just named the Midwest League Player of the Week, leading the way with his eighth home run, going 2/4 with two RBI and two runs. Nick Podkul (2/4, R, SB), Ryan Gold (2/4, 2B) and Reggie Pruitt (2/5) each had a pair of hits while Luis De Los Santos was 1/4 with a triple and an RBI. D.J. Neal was 1/4 with an RBI, a run and two stolen bases. Gabriel Moreno was hit by pitches twice and came out of the game for a pinch runner after he was hit for the second time in the ninth.

Troy Watson took the loss, going two innings and giving up seven runs (six earned) on five hits (including one home run) and three walks. Josh Hiatt followed, allowing two runs on two hits, three walks and three hit batters, striking out two over three innings. Mike Pascoe also hit three batters, allowing a run on two hits and a walk with two strikeouts in two innings. Sean Rackoski finished up with a clean eighth.

DSL Blue Jays 5, DSL D-Backs1 6

 

The DSL Blue Jays lost in a walkoff on Monday as the DSL D-backs1 scored in the bottom of the ninth to win 6-5.

Daniel Oliva was 3/5 with a triple and an RBI and Gabriel Martinez was 2/4 with a walk, an RBI and a run. Shortstop Emmanuel Sanchez was 2/4 with a run and a stolen base but also committed two errors. Willfrann Astudillo was 2/4 coming in for Gary David (who was playing first base). Amell Brazoban was 1/4 with a double and a run and Leonel Callez was 1/4 with an RBI. Adrian Montero was 1/1 with a walk.

Bejardi Meza started, giving up two runs on five hits with one strikeout in four innings and Edgar Castro allowed three runs on four hits and two walks in 3 1/3 innings with one strikeout. Jose Quintana took the loss, allowing an unearned run on two hits and two walks in one inning.
