The Jays saw the offense come to life thanks to some hitting from Dioner Navarro and newcomer Nolan Reimold but the Angels plated the eventual winners, beating the Jays 8-7.
Buffalo Bisons 6, Rochester Red Wings 2
The Bisons got another great pitching performance from Liam Hendriks and the Herd defeated the Red Wings in their last game in Rochester on this road trip. Hendriks went eight innings and allowed two runs on six hits and just one walk with four strikeouts. Several Bisons had big days with the bat including Kevin Pillar who went 4/5 with a double, two singles and a home run, driving in three. Ryan Goins continued his hot hitting, going 2/4 with a double and Jared Goedert was 3/4 with a home run. Brad Glenn also went deep, hitting his fifth of the season.

New Hampshire Fisher Cats 7, New Britain Rock Cats 1
With prospect Jose Berrios on the mound for the New Britain Rock Cats, the Fisher Cats were able to take advantage of some command issues and jump out on top thanks to some big blasts from a couple of Canadians. Mike Crouse went yard first with a blast in the fourth inning, using the home run to round out a very nice 2/2 day with the homer, two walks and two RBI as well as three runs scored. Dalton Pompey seems to be coming around since his promotion to Double-A and he launched his first Double-A home run as part of a 2/4 game with three RBI and an outfield assist. Perhaps starter Casey Lawrence has some Canadian blood because he had a strong game, going 7 2/3 innings and allowing just one unearned run on eight hits and two walks with five strikeouts.

Dunedin Blue Jays 1, Daytona Cubs 4
The Blue Jays lost the first game of the morning double header with the Cubs by a 4-1 score. Ben White started but came out of the game early, allowing three runs in two innings. Chad Girodo allowed just one unearned run in four innings of work, giving up only two hits and one walk while striking out six. The D-Jays only had one hit, an RBI single from Kevin Patterson.

Dunedin Blue Jays 8, Daytona Cubs 6
The results were better for the Blue Jays in Game 2 of the double header thanks to the bats waking up. Andy Fermin blasted a home run (his first with Dunedin) and Nick Baligod went yard for his fourth of the season while Dwight Smith went 2/3 with a double, a walk and an RBI. Fermin added a single and a walk to his home run, getting on base three times and driving in a pair. Frank Viola got into trouble in the start, allowing 4 runs in his 2 2/3 innings. Tony Davis was roughed up as well, allowing two runs of his own to score in the fourth inning despite striking out three batters and stranding all three of his inherited runners to finish the third. Wil Browning stranded two runners while Griffin Murphy and Arik Sikula finished the game off with Sikula notching his 19th save.

Lansing Lugnuts 3, Lake County Captains 4
The Lugnuts also played a matinee today, falling to Lake County by just one run. Lake County was up early, leading 3-0 going into the seventh inning when the Lugnuts tied it up but Jeremy Gabryszwski couldn’t hold on, allowing the eventual winning run in the bottom of the seventh to complete a seven-inning, four-run outing in which he gave up three home runs to the Captains. The hitters did what they could with Matt Dean running his batting average to .310 with a 3/4 game and Mitch Nay going 2/3 with a double and an RBI. Dickie Joe Thon drove in two with a double and Jason Leblebijian added two hits a walk and a stolen base.

Vancouver Canadians , Everett AquaSox
The Vancouver Canadians’ pitching couldn’t hold off the AquaSox and fell for their 11th loss of the season. Jairo Labourt allowed five runs in 3 2/3 innings, striking out seven but walking four. Mark Biggs allowed a run in 1 1/3 innings and Andrew Case struck out four but allowed a run in two innings of work. Tim Mayza was charged with two runs over his inning of work. The club only had nine hits including two from Tim Locastro (who stole his 11th base of the season) and Franklin Barreto who also stole two bases. Ryan McBroom drove in three runs, going 1/4 with a double and a walk.

Bluefield Blue Jays 7, Bristol Pirates 2
The Bluefield Blue Jays got some great pitching performances in a 7-2 victory over the Bristol Pirates (the Pirates took over the affiliation with Bristol this season from the White Sox). Miguel Burgos started and threw three scoreless innings, striking out four. He was followed by Matt Smoral who picked up the win, going four innings, allowing one unearned run and striking out four with just one walk. J.T. Autrey also struck out four over his two innings. The offense got a home run from catcher Dan Jansen and had two-hit games from James Lynch (2/3, BB, RBI), Rolando Segovia (2/5, 2 2B, RBI) and Richard Urena (2/5, SB). Aaron Attaway was perfect at the plate, going 1/1 with three walks and a stolen base.

GCL Blue Jays 2, GCL Pirates 7
Patrick Murphy continues to make his comeback from Tommy John surgery and he went two perfect innings for the Blue Jays, getting three fly outs and three ground outs. Daniel Rodriguez allowed five runs in three innings and Francisco Diaz gave up another two over 1 1/3 innings. The rest of the game was handled by Brandon Hinkle (2/3 IP), Canadian righty Sean Ratcliffe (1 IP, 1 H, 1 BB) and Jonathan Torres (1 IP, 1 H, 1 BB, 3 K). The offense didn’t get much going but Juan Tejada had another extra-base hit, this time, a triple to along with two outfield assists from right field. Juan Kelly hit a double, as did Andres De Aza and Freddy Rodriguez. Max Pentecost was 0/3.

DSL Blue Jays 9, DSL Marlins 2
The DSL Blue Jays are starting to improve their form, getting some good pitching and good hitting in the same game. Jose Nova started, throwing four innings with one unearned run against while Yonardo Herdenez threw four innings of his own with just one earned run against. Miguel Almonte went 2/3 with a double and an RBI, Francisco Rodriguez was 2/3 with a double, a walk and a stolen base while Jesus Severino was 2/5 with an RBI.

July 10 Preview
Buffalo Bisons (46-45)
It’s a battle of highly-ranked prospects in Buffalo as the Bisons host the Durham Bulls with Mike Montgomery on the mound for the Bulls and Aaron Sanchez on the hill for the Bisons. This one’s at 7:05 PM on MiLB TV and you can also head down to Coca-Cola Field in Buffalo to check it out in person.
New Hampshire Fisher Cats (43-47)
Matt Boyd looks to continue the great stuff he showed in his last start for the Fisher Cats in which he struck out nine batters over six innings. Boyd faces Virgil Vasquez of the New Britain Rock Cats at 7:05 PM on MiLB TV.
Dunedin Blue Jays (56-33)
Taylor Cole looks to get back on track for the Dunedin Blue Jays as they face the Daytona Cubs again. Cole has allowed at least five runs in each of his last three starts and is looking to retake his lead at the top of the Florida State League leaderboard for strikeouts. This game starts at 7:05 PM.
Lansing Lugnuts (42-46)
The Lugnuts send Shane Dawson to the mound in Lake County to take on Caleb Hamrick at 7:00 PM. Dawson is coming off one of his best starts of the year, throwing five scoreless innings at the Great Lakes Loons.
Vancouver Canadians (13-9)
Alberto Tirado throws again for the Vancouver Canadians as they visit the Everett AquaSox at 10:05 PM ET.
Bluefield Blue Jays (9-10)
Daniel Lietz pitches at home for the Bluefield Blue Jays against the Bristol Pirates at 7:05 PM at Bowen Field in Bluefield.
