I’m back from my sojourn to the Ottawa area for a couple of performances at a Medieval Festival where Wi-Fi wasn’t part of the package. It’s time to catch up on the weekend’s action in the Blue Jays’ minor leagues. The GCL Blue Jays won their two games against the GCL Yankees West club, getting outstanding pitching on both days. The Jays are 12-3 and in first place by a game in the GCL Northwest division.
GCL Blue Jays 3, GCL Yankees West 2
Guadalupe Chavez was the pitcher of record for the Blue Jays, going to 3-0 with a rather ordinary start (on the positive spectrum), giving up two runs on seven hits and one walk with three strikeouts. Jared Carkuff got the save, finishing the final three innings with just two hits allowed and three strikeouts.
