It was a pretty bad day for the Blue Jays’ minor leaguers as the eight clubs went 1-6 in seven games as the Dunedin Blue Jays were rained out.
Buffalo Bisons 2, Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders 4
The Buffalo Bisons had just five hits and the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders scored four runs in the seventh inning to beat the Bisons 4-2. Richard Urena did all of the damage for the Bisons, going 2/4 with a home run and two RBI.
Matt Tracy made his first appearance with the Buffalo Bisons, tossing five one-hit innings, walking one and striking out three. The RailRiders got to Jose Fernandez, who took the loss, allowing four runs (three earned) on six hits over 1 2/3 innings, striking out two. Craig Breslow walked one and struck out one, facing two batters and Justin Shafer pitched a clean eighth, striking out one.

Roster Notes: Tim Mayza was sent back down to the Buffalo Bisons and Rhiner Cruz and Luis Santos were promoted to Toronto. Jon Harris was sent back to New Hampshire and Rowdy Tellez was placed on the temporarily inactive list.

New Hampshire Fisher Cats 3, Reading Fightin Phils 5
The New Hampshire Fisher Cats did all of their scoring in the first inning, like the Buffalo Bisons and ultimately lost to the Reading Fightin Phils 5-3. Connor Panas drove in a run with a triple and scored while Jon Berti, Harold Ramirez, Max Pentecost and Gunnar Heidt each had a single.
Justin Dillon had his best start for the Fisher Cats, tossing six innings and giving up two runs on four hits and two walks with three strikeouts. Zach Jackson took the loss, allowing two runs on a hit and a walk with two strikeouts in 1 1/3 innings and Dusty Isaacs allowed his inherited runner from Jackson to score and allowed an unearned run of his own, giving up a hit and a walk over 2/3 of an inning with two strikeouts. Danny Young walked two in the ninth but there were no runs and he struck out one.

Roster Notes: Tayler Saucedo was promoted from Dunedin to New Hampshire and Jon Harris was sent back to New Hampshire from Buffalo.

Lansing Lugnuts 3, West Michigan Whitecaps 7
The Lansing Lugnuts fell to the West Michigan Whitecaps, losing 7-3 as Kody Clemens (brother of former Lugnuts Kacy Clemens) went deep twice to hit his first two professional home runs and Brock Deatherage was 5/5 (with a name like Deatherage, I had to mention him). Chavez Young was 3/4 with a single, a double and a triple for the Lugnuts, driving in a run and scoring once while Kevin Vicuna hit a double, scored and drove a run in. Jesus Navarro was 1/2 with a walk and a run.
Maverik Buffo failed in getting his 10th win, allowing five runs on 11 hits (including three home runs) in six innings, striking out five. Claudio Custodio struck out three in two innings but allowed two runs (one earned) on a hit. Dalton Rodriguez gave up two hits and a walk with one strikeout in the ninth.

Vancouver Canadians 3, Everett AquaSox 4
The Vancouver Canadians got a home run from Canadian Tanner Kirwer but they fell to the Everett AquaSox 4-3. Kirwer was 3/4 with a double, a triple and two RBI, adding a stolen base. Jake Brodt was 2/4 with a double and Sterling Guzman and Vinny Capra were each 1/3 with a walk and Capra drove in a run.
Jose Espada went five innings, allowing six hits (including a home run) and two walks leading to four runs with six strikeouts. Cobi Johnson finished the game with three strong innings, allowing a hit and a walk and striking out three.

Bluefield Blue Jays 2, Pulaski Yankees 0
The Bluefield Blue Jays won again but this time, it wasn’t the impressive, powerhouse offense that got the job done, it was the pitching staff who held the Pulaski Yankees off the board for 10 innings in a 2-0 win. Claudio Galva went five innings, allowing just three hits and two walks and striking out seven. Grant Townsend gave up just one hit and struck out three in 1 2/3 innings and Mike Pascoe walked one and struck out two in two innings. Sean Rackoski struck out two in getting the win over the final 1 1/3 innings.
The Blue Jays had just four hits but took nine walks with Luis De Los Santos going 2/4 with a walk and an RBI. Alejandro Kirk drove in the club’s other run with a sacrifice fly, going 0/3 with a walk and an RBI. John Aiello was 1/3 with two walks and Davis Schneider was 1/3 with a walk, a stolen base and was caught stealing. Cal Stevenson walked twice and scored and Dominic Abbadessa was held hitless for the first time in a game he started all year, going 0/4 but walked and stole a base.

GCL Blue Jays 2, GCL Phillies East 4
The GCL Blue Jays’ offense went MIA as they scored just two runs on five hits in a 4-2 loss to the GCL Phillies East. Jordan Groshans drove in both runs, going 1/4 while Aldo Ovando was 1/3 with a walk and Adrian Ramos was 1/3 with a walk and two runs.
Graham Spraker continues to return from injury, tossing 2 1/3 innings and allowing three runs (two earned) on four hits and a walk with three strikeouts. Luis Alvarez walked one in 1 2/3 innings, stranding two runners inherited from Spraker. Juan Diaz struck out three in the final four innings, giving up a run on two hits and a walk.

DSL Blue Jays 7, DSL Padres 8
The DSL Blue Jays dropped their match to the DSL Padres, giving up three runs over the last two innings to result in the 8-7 loss. Pedro Hurtado had a big game, going 2/4 with a walk, three RBI and a run as he approaches the .200 mark. Erickvi Celedonio and Gustavo Ruiz were both 1/4 with a walk with Ruiz driving in a run and Celedonio stealing a base. Alberto Rodriguez was 1/4 with a walk and a run.
Starter Junior Guzman only lasted 2/3 of an inning, allowing four runs on three hits with two walks and one strikeout. Brayan Mejia allowed one of the two inherited runners to score, allowing three hits and two walks with four strikeouts in 2 1/3 innings. Pedro Padilla allowed an unearned run on three walks and a hit with two strikeouts over three innings and Jose Brito gave up two runs on two hits and two walks, striking out three over 1 1/3 innings. Jeison Contreras took the loss, allowing a run on two hits and two walks while also allowing both inherited runners from Brito to score over the final 1 2/3 innings, striking out two.
