Yesterday it was Drew Hutchison‘s and Dan Johnson‘s day for the Jays as they finally broke the Curse of Yankee Stadium and won their first game there in the last 18 tries.
Buffalo Bisons 5, Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs 2
The Buffalo Bisons rode another strong performance from starter Liam Hendriks to a victory on Saturday with Hndriks providing seven outstanding innings of one-run, five-hit ball with eight strikeouts. Mike Zagurski threw a scoreless inning and Steve Delabar allowed a solo home run but struck out two in his inning of work. Ryan Schimpf continues to see some great results, going 2/3 with a double and an RBI while Adron Chambers had two doubles in a 2/3 day that also included a walk. Darin Mastroianni was 2/4 and stole two bases and scored twice.

New Hampshire Fisher Cats 0, Harrisburg Senators 3
John Anderson continues to pitch well in the starting rotation, matching his career high of seven strikeouts and allowed three runs on six hits and a walk. Unfortunately for the Fisher Cats, they were held to just six hits and no walks by the Senators to fall in a 3-0 loss. Andy Burns had two hits for the ‘Cats.

Dunedin Blue Jays 1, Charlotte Stone Crabs 6
The D-Jays continue to struggle to score runs and couldn’t support Taylor Cole in another strong performance on Saturday. Cole went 5 1/3 innings, allowing two runs on three hits and two walks and struck out nine. Justin Jackson allowed two runs over 1 2/3 innings and Griffin Murphy gave up his first two Dunedin runs over two innings of work. Gustavo Pierre had two hits and Marcus Knecht hit a solo home run and took a walk.

Lansing Lugnuts 2, Burlington Bees 3
The Lugnuts came out on the wrong end of another close, one-run game, this time losing in 14 innings to the Burlington Bees. Jeremy Gabryszwski allowed two runs over five innings but Brady Dragmire, Scott Silverstein and Phil Kish combined for eight innings of scoreless relief before Jimmy Cordero allowed an unearned run in the 14th to win it. The Lugnuts managed to get 11 hits including a single and triple from Matt Dean, two singles from Dawel Lugo and a pair of hits (and stolen bases) from David Harris. With a big crowd from his hometown of Solon, Iowa on hand, Derrick Loveless went 1/6 with a stolen base.

Vancouver Canadians 2, Hillsboro Hops 1
In another extra-inning game, the Vancouver Canadians emerged victorious over the Hillsboro Hops with all of the game’s runs being scored in the 10th inning. Miguel Castro came out blazing, throwing six shutout innings and allowing just three hits and two walks with eight strikeouts. Roemon Fields was 2/5 with his league-leading 31st stolen base and Max Pentecost was 2/5, leading off the 10th with a single that got the club’s rally underway. Seth Conner hit a sac bunt to move him to second and Chris Carlson (2/4, BB) smacked a double to bring him home. The winning run was driven home by catcher Michael De La Cruz (1/5) on an RBI single.

Bluefield Blue Jays 3, Danville Braves 6
It’s hard to make of the box score for the Bluefield/Danville game. Thanks to four errors, four of the five runs charged to Jesus Tinoco were unearned and he only allowed five hits and one walk over 4 2/3 innings with three strikeouts. Carlos Ramirez allowed the sixth run in 2 1/3 innings on a hit and two walks but the hit was a solo home run by Joseph Daris. Chase Wellbrock finished th game with two perfect innings, striking out three. Dan Jansen hit his fourth home run of the year for Bluefield, gonig 1/3 with a walk. Rowdy Tellez continues to claw his way back, going 2/4 with a double and bringing his season’s batting average to .250. Josh Almonte was 1/4 witha triple and an RBI.

GCL Blue Jays 9, GCL Pirates 8
The lead kept changing hands but the Blue Jays ended up on top of the Pirates for win in the GCL. Angel Gomez led the way, going 4/4 with two stolen bases, two runs and two RBI while Gunnar Heidt was 3/4 with a triple and a walk to go with two runs scored and three RBI. Lane Thomas was on base three times with a hit and two walks, adding a stolen base. Edwin Fuentes was 2/4 with two RBI but Yeltsin Gudino was 0/5, dropping his batting average to .152. It was a rough day to be a pitcher and only Turner Lee was able get through his innings without being scored upon. Grayson Huffman started and gave up a run over two innings but walked three. Hansel Rodriguez made his first appearance in almost a month, throwing an inning and allowing a run on two hits. Bobby Wheatley took the brunt of the damage, allowing five runs on eight hits (including two home runs) over four innings and Pickering, Ontario’s Sean Ratcliffe only pitched to four batters, getting an out and walking three batters before coming out of the game.

DSL Blue Jays 3, DSL Pirates 0
The Blue Jays pitchers collaborated on a shutout with Guillermo De La Cruz and Denis Diaz each throwing four scoreless innings and striking out three. Rodrigo Orozco went 3/4 with a double and a walk.

Buffalo Bisons (53-53)
The Bisons face Jo-Jo Reyes yet again but this time, it’ll be Brad Mills making his first Buffalo start at 1:05 at Coca-Cola Field and on MiLB TV.
New Hampshire Fisher Cats (50-57)
Scott Copeland goes for the Fisher Cats at 2:00 PM on MiLB TV as they face the Harrisburg Senators.
Dunedin Blue Jays (62-43)
It’s Efrain Nieves going for the Blue Jays at 5:00 PM against the Charlotte Stone Crabs.
Lansing Lugnuts (48-55)
At 3:00 PM ET, the Lansing Lugnuts send Shane Dawson (3-5, 3.38 ERA) against Harrison Cooney and the Burlington Bees.
Vancouver Canadians (27-16)
The Vancouver Canadians take to the road to face the Spokane Indians at 9:30 PM ET with Zakery Wasilewski on the mound.
Bluefield Blue Jays (17-19)
The Bluefield Blue Jays are home to face the Danville Braves with Evan Smith on the mound. Smith has been excellent so far this season with both the GCL and Bluefield Blue Jays.
The GCL and DSL Blue Jays are both off for Sunday.
