Dunedin Blue Jays 0, St. Lucie Mets 2

 

The Blue Jays had only four hits as they were blanked coming off of their off day at the ML All-Star Break. Matt Dean had two of the club’s four hits, both doubles, while L.B. Dantzler hit another double, going 1/4. Conner Greene had a good start, allowing two runs on seven hits and two walks in five innings with five strikeouts and Brad Allen was perfect in three innings, striking out four.

Lansing Lugnuts 6, South Bend Cubs 4

 

The Lansing Lugnuts came away with a victory as Jesus Tinoco went a solid six innings, allowing four runs (two earned) on eight hits and two walks with four strikeouts. Dusty Isaacs picked up the win with three shutout innings giving up three hits and striking out one. Jason Leblebijian, D.J. Davis and Michael De La Cruz each had two hits while Josh Almonte was 1/3 with a double, a walk, two stolen bases and two runs scored, adding an outfield assist.

Vancouver Canadians 5, Everett AquaSox 4

 

The Cs finally returned to the win column, getting runs in the eighth and ninth to get the lead back. The held it despite Andrew Case allowing the AquaSox to come within a run in the ninth inning although he struck out three batters over two innings. Francisco Rios started and struck out four in three innings, giving up one unearned run on three hits and two walks. Josh DeGraaf allowed two runs in an inning and Brandon Hinkle earned the win with three scoreless innings, walking two and striking out three.

Andrew Guillotte led the offense with three hits and an RBI, adding a run and a stolen base while Justin Atkinson hit two doubles, driving in a run and scoring. Kevin Garcia also had two hits.

Bluefield Blue Jays, Bristol Pirates

 

Game Postponed due to rain

 

GCL Blue Jays 4, GCL Tigers 2

 

The GCL Blue Jays got a rain-shortened victory, beating the Tigers 4-2 on Wednesday. Tom Robson was roughed up early, giving up two runs on four hits and a walk over 1 2/3 innings. Luis Sanchez picked up the win, going 3 1/3 innings of scoreless ball, stranding the bases loaded and giving up only three hits with two strikeouts. The Blue Jays only had three hits with Reggie Pruitt hitting a double.

DSL Blue Jays 6, DSL Orioles1 12

 

Pitching and defense let the club down as the DSL Blue Jays allowed twelve runs (five unearned) in the loss. Wilfri Aleton allowed five runs (two earned) over 3 2/3 innings while Tommy Henriquez was tagged for five earned over 2 1/3 innings. Wilmin Lara gave up two unearned runs in 1 1/3 without allowing a hit and Guillermo De La Cruz finished teh game with 1 2/3 innings of scoreless ball, despite allowing two of his inherited runners from Lara to score.

Yorman Rodriguez led the offense with three hits and Kevin Vicuna was 2/4 with an RBI.
