The Blue Jays’ minor league squads were 2-4 in games completed on Friday with Bluefield getting rained out and the DSL Blue Jays having their game suspended in extra innings.

 

Buffalo Bisons 0, Lehigh Valley IronPigs 10

 

Buffalo continued their woes at the hands of the Lehigh Valley IronPigs, getting three hit in a 10-0 loss. Chris Leroux took the brunt of the damage, allowing seven runs on 10 hits in four innings, walking two and striking out two. Bobby Korecky allowed two more runs over two innings while Chad Girodo gave up a run on two hits in an inning of work. Ryan Tepera emerged unscathed from a perfect eighth.

Ryan Goins, Domonic Brown and David Adams had the only hits for the Bisons.

New Hampshire Fisher Cats 2, Portland Sea Dogs 3

 

Conner Greene had a very good start for the New Hampshire Fisher Cats but the club’s offense couldn’t get going as they fell to the Portland Sea Dogs 3-2. Greene went six innings and allowed three runs (but only one was earned) on six hits and three walks with three strikeouts. John Stilson finished the game with two scoreless innings, walking one and giving up one hit with two strikeouts.

The batters only came up with six hits, getting a single and a double from Jason Leblebijian and a double and walk from Emilio Guerrero who drove in a run.

Dunedin Blue Jays 4, Bradenton Marauders 9

 

The Bradenton Marauders mauled the Dunedin pitching yet again, scoring nine runs on their way to a 9-4 win. Justin Shafer only made it through two innings, giving up seven runs on eight hits and a walk while Brad Allen carried the club through to the eighth, throwing six innings of two run ball, giving up five hits and four walks with four strikeouts. Dusty Isaacs walked one and struck out one in a hitless ninth.

Richard Urena had the big blast for the Blue Jays, going 2/4 with a solo home run. Ryan McBroom continued his hot streak, going 2/4 while Chris Colabello was 1/3 with a walk and a run.

Roster Notes: The Blue Jays activated Francisco Rios off of the temporarily inactive list while Sean Reid-Foley was placed on the temporarily inactive list.

Lansing Lugnuts 3, Peoria Chiefs 0

 

Angel Perdomo returned from San Diego and the MLB Futures Game with a stellar outing, throwing six innings of scoreless ball at the Peoria Chiefs, giving up five hits and striking out eight. Kirby Snead made his Lansing debut with two scoreless innings, allowing a hit and Jackson Lowery also pitched for Lansing for the first time, striking out one and giving up a hit in the ninth inning for the save.

With eight hits, the offense wasn’t exactly explosive but Carl Wise hit his third home run of the season, a two-run shot and Justin Atkinson had two hits. Connor Panas was 1/3 with a triple and a walk.

Roster Notes: Jordan Romano was placed on the 7-day DL while Ryan Metzler was activated off the DL. Max Pentecost was placed on the temporarily inactive list.

 

Vancouver Canadians 6, Boise Hawks 7

 

 

The Vancouver Canadians battled the Boise Hawks into extra innings on Friday night but ultimately took the loss as the Hawks walked off with the win in the bottom of the 10th. Andy Ravel got the start and gave up a run on two hits and a walk over three innings with three strikeouts. Mike Ellenbest followed with two innings, giving up two runs (one earned) on four hits and two walks with a strikeout. Gabe Noyalis surrendered three runs in 1 1/3 innings and Evan Smith only went 1/3 of an inning before Jackson McClelland allowed two inherited runners (charged to Noyalis) to score. McClelland finished the seventh and threw a scoreless eighth, allowing two hits and a walk over 1 1/3 innings. Griffin Glaude succeeded him for the ninth and held the Hawks off the board but succumbed in the 10th, giving up the walkoff run and taking the loss.

Javier Hernandez had the biggest day with a pair of hits (including a double) and three RBI. Jacob Anderson scored twice, getting a hit and a walk.

Bluefield Blue Jays, Princeton Rays

 

Postponed due to rain

 

GCL Blue Jays 3, GCL Tigers East 1

 

Guadalupe Chavez and Jared Carkuff pitched the GCL Blue Jays a 3-1 win over the GCL Tigers East club. Chavez threw six scoreless innings, giving up just four hits and striking out three while Carkuff was almost unhittable, striking out seven batters over three innings but giving up the Tigers’ only run on two hits and a walk.

Ryan Gold and Manuel Herazo each had two hits with Gold taking a walk and driving in a run and Herazo hitting a double and driving in two.

DSL Blue Jays 3, DSL Orioles1 3 (suspended)

 

The DSL Blue Jays and Orioles1 club played to a 3-3 tie in 10 complete innings but the game was suspended due to rain in the top of the 11th.
