Catching Up on Minor League Transactions

I’m finally back in Toronto and starting to catch up on the whirlwind of moves that the Blue Jays made at the non-waiver trade deadline. The Jays seemingly emptied out the pitching ranks of the minor leagues (but I’ll write more on that for another post) but, as you’ll see even in this transaction-oriented article, all is completely not lost.

Buffalo Bisons

July 28: Phillippe Aumont was assigned to the Bisons after being signed on a minor league contract by the Blue Jays.

July 30: Bobby Korecky was activated off the DL.

August 1: Colt Hynes was promoted to Buffalo from New Hampshire, Ryan Tepera was optioned back to Buffalo from Toronto and Munenori Kawasaki was promoted to the Blue Jays.

August 2: OF Luke Scott was activated off the DL.

August 3: OF Ezequiel Carrera was sent to Buffalo outright. RHP Ben Rowen was claimed by the Blue Jays of waivers from Chicago and optioned to Buffalo.

August 4: OF Caleb Gindl was placed on the DL and Roemon Fields was promoted from New Hampshire.

August 5: The Blue Jays signed George Kottaras to a minor league contract and assigned him to Buffalo. Josh Thole and Bobby Korecky were placed on the DL.

 

 

New Hampshire Fisher Cats

 

July 30: RHP Mike Lee was activated from the DL.

July 31: RHP Cory Burns was activated from the DL.

August 1: LHP Colt Hynes was promoted to Buffalo.

August 4: C Derrick Chung was assigned to New Hampshire from Dunedin and Roemon Fields was promoted to Buffalo.

 

Dunedin Blue Jays

July 30: RHP Ryan Cook was assigned to the Dunedin Blue Jays from the GCL Blue Jays.

August 1: Murphy Smith was placed on the DL and Shane Dawson was promoted to Dunedin from Lansing. Chris Smith, signed as a minor league free agent, as assigned to Dunedin.

August 4: LHP Griffin Murphy was sent to the GCL on a rehab assignment. C Derrick Chung was promoted to New Hampshire.

 

Lansing Lugnuts

July 30: RHP Tom Robson was assigned to the Lansing Lugnuts.

August 1: Justin Shafer was activated from the DL and Shane Dawson was promoted to the Dunedin Blue Jays.

August 3: Phil Kish was placed on the DL.

August 5: RHP Clinton Hollon was promoted to the Lansing Lugnuts from Vancouver.

 

Vancouver Canadians

 

July 29: Tayler Saucedo was promoted to Vancouver from Bluefield.

July 30: Tom Robson was promoted to Lansing.

August 5: Clinton Hollon was promoted to Lansing.

 

Bluefield Blue Jays

 

July 29: Tayler Saucedo was promoted to Vancouver

August 1: Luis Sanchez and Jackson Lowery were promoted to Bluefield from the GCL Blue Jays.

 

GCL Blue Jays

 

July 29: RHP Francis Eduardo was released.

July 30: RHP Ryan Cook was promoted to Dunedin.

August 1: Luis Sanchez and Jackson Lowery were promoted to Bluefield.

August 4: Griffin Murphy began a rehab assignment with the GCL Blue Jays and Juan Nunez and Guadalupe Chavez were promoted from the DSL.

 

DSL Blue Jays

 

August 1: The Blue Jays signed SS Ronald Concepcion to a minor league deal and assigned him to the DSL Blue Jays.

August 3: RHP Wilmin Lara was placed on the restricted list.

August 4: Juan Nunez and Guadalupe Chavez were promoted to the GCL.
