The Blue Jays rebounded from a tough loss on Friday for one of the most exciting wins of the season. After Marcus Stroman dueled Max Scherzer for nine innings with the Jays down 2-1, the offense stirred to life, scoring one in the bottom of the ninth to tie and one in the bottom of the 10th (thanks to an RBI double by Nolan Reimold) to win in walk-off fashion.

Buffalo Bisons: Postponed due to rain

New Hampshire Fisher Cats 5, Akron RubberDucks 2

The Fisher Cats continue their run towards .500 with another win thanks to a strong performance by Mike Lee who was making his first appearance in the Blue Jays’ organization after being traded for on Wednesday. Lee went six scoreless innings, allowing only five hits and two walks with five strikeouts before Richard Bleier came in for 1 2/3 innings, allowing two runs. Gregory Infante notched his 18th save with a scoreless ninth. Matt Newman led the way offensively, going 3/4 with a triple and an RBI while Yusuf Carter was 2/4 with a stolen base, an RBI and two runs scored and Jon Berti was 2/5.

Facing Kevin Ziomek, one of the top pitchers in the MWL, the Lugnuts couldn’t get much done as they only had three hits and struck out eight times against the young hurler. Brad Allen countered as best he could for the Lugnuts, allowing three runs over five innings but the bullpen was flawless with Matt Dermody and Scott Silverstein going four innings and allowing no hits and only one walk. The Canadians bounced back from their Friday night loss with a Saturday night victory, thanks in large part to another outstanding start from Jairo Labourt. Labourt went 5 2/3 scoreless innings, allowing just three hits and a walk while striking out eight batters. The offense was plentiful with five different C’s having multi-hit games. Boomer Collins led the way with a 3/4 performance that included a double, a walk, a run scored and two RBI. 1. Unfortunately, this is an issue I’m aware of. The Baseball Reference linker automatically links to his father’s page and I’m far too lazy to link it to his own page manually every single time.

Thanks for commenting! I’ll try to be more vigilant!
