It’ll be a quick update today. The Jays lost the last game of their series in Seattle and the bats must have gone dormant after the 19-inning win against Detroit. Edwin will be back for their first game in Chicago and the Jays are getting close to having all hands on deck. In the minors, it was a day of outstanding games for the starting pitchers but most weren’t rewarded with wins.
Buffalo Bisons 2, Norfolk Tides 3
Despite a terrific start from Sean Nolin (6 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 7 K), the Bisons lost when Bobby Korecky surrendered three runs in the ninth. Edwin Encarnacion was 1/4 and Cole Gillespie drove in both runs with a two-run blast in the seventh inning.

New Hampshire Fisher Cats: Postponed due to rain
Dunedin Blue Jays 9, Clearwater Threshers 2
The Dunedin bats exploded for nine runs on 12 hits including home runs from L.B. Dantzler (his first in the FSL) and Kevin Patterson (his 11th on the year). Both added a double and Dantzler ended up with four RBI and Patterson had two. Marcus Knecht was 3/5 with three runs, Dwight Smith, Jr. was 2/2 with a double, three walks and three runs scored and Peter Mooney was 2/5. Jesse Hernandez went five innings and allowed three runs.

Lansing Lugnuts 3, Fort Wayne TinCaps 2
Matthew Dean, Derrick Loveless and David Harris each had two hits while Brent Powers struck out seven in five innings, allowing just one hit and four walks.

Vancouver Canadians 7, Everett AquaSox 6
In an epic, 14-inning game, the Canadians emerged with the win after tying up the game in the bottom of the eighth, again in the bottom of the 13th and came up with the winning run thanks to some sloppy play by Everett in the 14th. Gunnar Heidt led the way with four hits and a walk with a triple and Franklin Barreto was 2/3 with two doubles, two walks, two runs, an RBI, two stolen bases and his 24th error of the season. Chase Mallard was the non-winner in this game, going five innings, allowing only five hits (and no runs) while striking out six.

Bluefield Blue Jays 3, Princeton Rays 7
The pitching staff struggled with Jesus Tinoco allowing three runs (two earned) on two hits and five walks but struck out six batters in three innings. Carlos Ramirez allowed three runs in two innings and Alberto Guzman allowed one run on a hit and a walk in two innings. Lane Thomas was 2/3 with a walk and Rowdy Tellez was 2/4 with a triple and two RBI.

GCL Blue Jays: Double header postponed due to rain
DSL Blue Jays 4, DSL Tigers 5
Rodrigo Orozco had another multi-hit game, going 2/5 while Ronniel Demorizi, Miguel Almonte and Edward Olivares also added two hits.
