Preston Guilmet added two innings of perfect ball, striking out four while Steve Delabar and Bobby Korecky each threw an inning with Korecky allowing a run. Andy Burns led the offense with three hits (including a double) and Brad Glenn had a single and a double and the pair accounted for five of the club’s six hits.

New Hampshire Fisher Cats 8, Trenton Thunder 3

Sunday’s offensive lull for the Fisher Cats was short-lived as the Jays’ Double-A club mounted an offensive barrage, scoring eight runs against the Trenton Thunder on Monday, winning 8-3. Kevin Nolan led the way with three hits and scoring twice while Melky Mesa (2/4, 2B, HR, 2 RBI) and Ryan Schimpf (2/4, 2 2B, 3 RBI) had two hits each and Dwight Smith had three RBI with a double and a sac fly.

Trenton played their A-team on Monday, sending six of the Yankees’ top 10 prospects to the plate against Casey Lawrence but he was able to get through 6 1/3 innings of solid baseball, allowing three runs on eight hits with six strikeouts. With Lawrence fading in the seventh, Danny Barnes came in and struck out three more in 1 2/3 innings before Blake McFarland struck out two in his inning of work.

Roster Notes: Austin Bibens-Dirkx moved down from Buffalo to the Fisher Cats after Luis Perez was promoted.

It was not the best day in Dunedin as the pitching staff got rocked for 10 runs while the offense only managed five hits in a 10-0 loss. Jayson Aquino got the start, allowing five runs (four earned) in four innings on five hits and two walks, getting victimized by two home runs despite striking out six. Matt Dermody gave up another big fly in his three innings, allowing another five runs (four earned) on five hits with four strikeouts in three innings. Tiago Da Silva was the only pitcher to get through his innings without being lit up and only surrendered one hit in two innings of work with three strikeouts. Five different players had hits while David Harris hit the only double.

Roster Notes: A couple of pitchers were shifted around as Jonathon Wandling was sent to extended spring training and Alonzo Gonzalez was promoted to Dunedin. Infielder Jason Leblebijian was activated off the DL and Andy Fermin was placed on the 7-day DL.
