The Blue Jays’ affiliates had a 2-2 day, getting wins in New Hampshire and Lansing while the Bisons and Dunedin Blue Jays lost.
Buffalo Bisons 1, Durham Bulls 5
The Buffalo Bisons offense failed to fire again, losing 5-1 to the Durham Bulls. Danny Espinosa had a pair of hits going 2/4 while Dwight Smith Jr. was 1/3 with a walk. Tim Lopes was 1/2 with a walk, moving his batting average to .444 and Dalton Pompey was 1/4.
Chris Rowley needed 82 pitches to toss four innings, giving up six hits and three walks to combine for two runs with two strikeouts. Taylor Guerrieri was hit for two more runs on five hits with a walk and a strikeout over 2 2/3 and Luis Santos finished up, giving up a run on two hits and two walks over 1 1/3.

New Hampshire Fisher Cats 9, Binghamton Rumble Ponies 4
The New Hampshire Fisher Cats rebounded from their series-opening loss on Monday to beat the Binghamton Rumble Ponies by a 9-4 score on Tuesday. Leadoff batter Jonathan Davis homered on the third pitch he saw, getting the Fisher Cats off to a flying start. They got another run on a Vladimir Guerrero Jr. ground out that scored Bo Bichette‘s first of two triples and the Fisher Cats would tack on seven more runs before they were finished. While Davis was only 1/4 on the day, he would drive in two more runs while Bo Bichette was 2/5 wtih two triples and two runs. Guerrero drove in a pair, going 1/4 with a run and Cavan Biggio continues to swing a hot bat, going 2/3 with a double, an RBI, two runs and a stolen base. Connor Panas (2/4) and Patrick Cantwell (2/4, 3B, R) also had two hits each.
Jordan Romano tossed 5 2/3 innings, giving up three runs on four hits and four walks with four strikeouts for the win. Danny Young allowed a run in 1 2/3 innings, striking out four but also giving up four hits. Justin Shafer had another strong outing, tossing 1 2/3 innings and giving up a hit with two strikeouts.

Dunedin Blue Jays 1, Lakeland Flying Tigers 2
The Dunedin Blue Jays’ offense was held in check by the Lakeland Flying Tigers, losing 2-1 on Tuesday morning. Angel Perdomo was outstanding in his season debut, giving up just three hits and a walk in five innings of work, needing 78 pitches (48 of them strikes) while striking out seven. William Ouellette gave up a run in two innings on three hits and Travis Bergen took the loss, giving up a run on a hit and a walk with two strikeouts in the eighth.
The offense had just four hits including a triple (and a run) for Joshua Palacios and a double from Bradley Jones who also struck out three times in a 1/4 game. Richard Urena was 0/3 but picked up the club’s only RBI on a sacrifice fly. Logan Warmoth and Nash Knight had the only other hits for the Blue Jays.

Lansing Lugnuts 7, Dayton Dragons 0
The Lansing Lugnuts dominated the Dayton Dragons, giving up just two hits overall on their way to a 7-0 shutout. For the first five innings, the story of the game was young Yennsy Diaz on the mound for Lansing. Diaz, 21, tossed five hitless innings, striking out five and walking four. Dalton Rodriguez took over and added a sixth hitless inning, retiring the side in order but gave up a two-out single in the top of seventh to break the no-hitter spell. Rodriguez allowed just the hit and struck out one in two innings of work. Brody Rodning took over to finish things off, giving up a hit and striking out two in two innings to finish the game and complete the shutout.
Kevin Smith led the offense, going 2/5 with a double and a home run, driving in five runs for the ‘Nuts. Kacy Clemens was 2/5 with a double and a run while Matt Morgan was 1/2 with two walks and a run and Ryan Noda only walked once, going 0/3.
